Bravo, Alan Alda and Jimmy Smits!
Good actors -- brave actors -- and very bright guys! Thanks Aaron Sorkin for creating this show, thanks President Martin Sheen, the great cast and those behind the scenes, and thanks NBC/GE for keeping "West Wing" on the air!

This show has always highlighted the contrast, for many who watched, between what a President can and should be, and what the man now in the White House cannot and never will be.

4. Agreed.
That was a lot of fun.

They both did a great job considering it was, you know, live. Plus, we're all political buffs here. NBC was flooded for along time afterward.

5. Agreed, and NBC's "stunt" must have worked
NBC.com has been down since the show aired. I want to go vote for the debate winner.

12. and they have to do this again in half an hour!
Luckily they're both accomplished stage performers and are used to back-to-back performances in the same day.

15. We will never see such a debate in real life
Talking about the issues that are important to most of us.

Nothing about church, or abortion, or gay, or bible, or even faith. The closest one was when Santos describing his life, starting from the time he was baptized 45 years ago.

17. Interesting .....
Really the first time I have ever caught that show. America has to be 'entertained' to pay attention. Not knocking the show. Just thoughts, how the average American watching this ...... will they get more involved in real politics in the future? Or are the normal people who watch this show already into politics or the world situation? I have no idea. My innate reaction is if it gets more Americans to pay attention to the real world .... cool. Peace. :)

(shaking fist)

'What a President can and should be, and what the man now in the White House cannot and never will be.'

Just replace man w/ priviledged, spoiled child-man and you have a neat. concise, compact description.
