I'm just asking. Since he seems to be in such a hurry to end "birthright citizenship", I was just wonering if any DU'er with a broadband connection, and training in geneology had looked into his parents, grand-parents, great grand-parents, etc. to make sure they were here legally.

In fact, I think it would be interesting to look into all 535 members of Congress, and everyone in the mis-administration. I wonder how many of them could be denied citizenship. I also wonder if they realize how hard it would be to provide proof that their ancestors were here legally.

and the rest of these haters are gathering steam. It's the "Gangs of NY" syndrome, the "Nativists" vs the newcomers---"I got in the door, now close the door."

The good people of Vermont had it correct when they threw the effing Minutemen out on their bums with the slogan, "TAKE YOUR HATE OUT OF OUR STATE!"

The United Farmworkers Union are following their own pacifist philosophy of returning-hate-with-love and not mentioning the MM by name in their news conferences. O.K., fine, but there has to be room for more direct opposition, too.

The Democratic Party office near the MM has received death threats, and, believe it or not, threats against SHRUB! because he didn't overtly embrace them, saying they were not needed because the Border Patrol was there.

How far are they willing to take it? and you know that it is all a bunch of crap. They have no intention of stopping the corporate masters at Wal-mart, "mega-farms", Hilton Hotels, etc, from hiring and finding "cheap labor".

All this is, is a huge chunk of "red-meat" to throw to their pathetic base. Get 'em all worked up in a frenzy about the damn brown people that are stealing their jobs, and then quietly forget about it once the 2006 elections are over.

Do we need to do something about illegal immigration? You're damn straight we do. I would start by imposing massive fines on companies that hire them. I would grant amnesty to those in this country, streamline the process for folks to become citizens, streamline the process to get into the United States, hire 100,000 more Boarder Patrol agents and give them enforcement power, but most of all, I would "UNIONIZE WAL-MART".

The American people are going to have to be told a very hard truth. You can not have your cake, and eat-it too. If you want to end illegal immigration, you are going to have to pay more for that head of lettuce at the grocery store. Unless the American people are willing to sacrifice, we will be able to do nothing.

Look, telling me you want to end illegal immigration, but you aren't willing to pay more for the goods and services you want, is like telling me you want to get married, but sleep around on the side.
