Frist should be stripped of his ability to practice medicine.
"First, do no harm."

All doctors live by this credo. Aside from his stock problems, Bill Frist has done as much harm to this country and average Americans as many other Republican thugs you can name.

The American Medical Association should condemn him, and Tennessee, or whatever state in which he's licensed, should declare that license null and void.

And no, I'm not saying he's Josef Mengele (the sadistic doctor of Auschwitz). Then again, maybe I would if I were a cat.

1. But, he has superhuman powers!!!
He can diagnose mental acuity by watching a snippet of video and, even more amazing, he can see into a blind trust. Maybe they should have put his trust documents into a lead-lined safe, guarded with green Kryptonite.

6. From Al Franken's latest book
every hospital's intensive care unit will have a "Frist Cam" installed, so the amazing doctor can view each patient and give them all an "up or down vote".

10. LOL
Frist is an embarrasment. And what is so funny is he proclaims to be "pro-family" but his families business made fortunes in abortion. LOL.

4. Not sure he's actually practicing. Coburn, (R-asshole), on the other hand
is flagrantly flouting senate rules that prohibit having a paying job on the side. He continues to "practice" medicine (for fees) saying its how he keeps in touch with his constituents, (during their pelvics (he purports to be an OB-Gyn) he can discuss critical legislative issues.).

What a dork.

8. He just wants to "practice his love"!
Is that how he gained his supposed ability to detect lies by observing body language?

11. I haven't heard if he is either
Edited on Mon Nov-07-05 02:03 PM by FreedomAngel82
 I'm sure it'd be all over the place here in Tn if he was still practicing. I've never heard anything. It'd be easy to find out and I don't think he'd want to risk his majority leader spot.

5. I've got no truck
with Bill Frist, but how does his financial and political shenanigans translate into medical harm, which is what said credo is about???

If every rich, Republican physician who had conservative political views were stripped of their licenses, well, we really would have a health crises.

Not that I don't think we should attack Frist on the merits of the issues, but his medical license is not an issue.

7. Check out his votes on the Medicare bill and health care for veterans.
The Medicare bill is a gift to the pharmaceutical industry and hurts everyone who has to pay for prescription drugs.

Veterans have gotten more fucked over on health care than they have since Herbert Hoover was president.

Sorry, but you can't tell me that cat-killer Frist isn't doing any medical harm.

14. Sorry.
I can't agree. I think the creed only applies to his practice of medicine, not his politics, even on public health issues.

Or maybe you're a lumper while I'm a splitter.

In any event, the proper punishment for his political misdeeds is to be turned out of office, not have his medical license taken away.

15. Personally,
I think the only justifiable situation in which his license should be stripped is over the diagnosing of Terri Schiavo via a video tape. Despite what he claims, that was a diagnosis, and as a highly trained medical professional he should know better than to do something so irresponsible.
