1. I put "favorable" --
Of our two major parties, they're the good guys. But they could do so much more.

4. I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football
Like Lucy, the Dems, my party always promises to be out ahead on issues of racial and gender equity, an end to corporate welfare, improvement of social welfare needs. THey promise a whole lot in relation to social justice and equity, but they deliver very little, and they pander to the haves and do lip service to the have-nots.

I am really frustrated by the wishy washy democrats. I want to see real and lasting improvements. We desperately need health care for all people. We need a living wage for all workers. We need to encourage ingenuity in areas of environmental clean up, new fuels etc.

Alas, I feel like the democratic party has run hard and far away from the L word, and they stand for little more than a memory of what should have been.

5. Other. I'm sitting, waiting, and hoping. I remain loyal but disapponted
Disappointed that they haven't proven a specific course yet.
Disapppointed that they're pretty much banking on Bushco imploding and not going after him themselves.
Disappointed that Kerry was the best we could come up with in 2004
Hopeful that they have a secret plan that's gonna surprise us all in the end in a positive way.

14. Very well said.
I feel similarly. I haven't even voted in my own poll because I'm so ambivalent about the party. I'll probably vote "Other" and mean "ambivalent."

6. I too said favorable, although I no longer consider myself a "real" dem...
But I've been a democrat all my life, and my principles are certainly in line with what I think of as the left wing of the democratic party. More and more, however, I've felt that the party mainstream has abandoned those principles, leaving me over here in left field, which is looking greener all the time. I'll still be here if the democratic party ever swings back this way. :hi:

8. I think they need to get out more
I would like to see Dr. Dean go out and talk to many, many more dems and not just for sit down dinner fund raisers. But, old fashioned town hall type meetings.

I would like to see prominent Dems out there meeting the regular folks and listening to our ideas.

9. Not sure any of the choices fit.
The Bush Criminal Empire's own failures are coming back to bite them in the ass, and it should be the greatest opportunity in history to restore Democratic LIBERAL (Hell yes, I'll say it) values to this country.

Yet there are still those in this party who insist on being Republican lite.

WHY???

If we can't get Congress back AS DEMOCRATS, NOT NEOCON GROUPIES, in 2006 after all the shit has happenned since Chimp stole Ohio, then this party is truly dead.

That's my honest view of it. Try to apply it to one of the options above, if you can.....

10. Comfortably favorable.
I'm a Democrat. I'm not ashamed of calling myself one, but I, as most of us do, have issues with the Party in some respects.

11. Mostly Favorable
I like the ideals they stand for, I don't like the way they have folded in the face of adversity the past couple years. Harry Reid's actions of late are a step in the right direction. I'd like to see a little more forceful leadership.

12. Strongly favorable
I think the Democrats picking Dean as the DNC chair; has been one of the greatest things they have done in around the last 40--or more years.

Edited on Mon Nov-07-05 03:53 PM by justabob
the GOP is landing body blow after body blow knocking the wind out of us all while the Dems hold our hands behind our backs so we can neither protect nor defend ourselves. I realize not all dems are that way, but that is the way I have been experiencing the last few years.

edit: typo
