1968....2006...
You know, with everything that is rumbling around in the nation and the world recently, I'm getting this overwhelming feeling of deja vu'. It's beginning to look something like 1968 again. In a political way that is.

1. I agree. Though, in 1968, we lost the White House.

4. This coming Tuesday night.. a must watch documentary
on PBS.. "The Sixties"..check your station for time...

Kids of today have NO IDEA how 1968 played out.. What we have now is really child's play considering...

There was a real possibility of revolution in the air back then

5. The revolution was aborted by assasinations.
Let's not forget the evil the GOP is capable of. They killed Kennedy, King, and Kennedy. They anthraxed Daschle and other top Dems. It's time for our leaders to take extreme precautions, lest our (peaceful and law-abiding this time) revolution be violently aborted again.

7. In a political way, 1968 wasn't a great year for the Democrats....
and it got worse for us after that. Thank goodness for Watergate.

8. I think it's beginning to look more like '94
General discontent with the Democratic congress and the president (at that time) which brought a heavy swing towards the GOP gaining 52 seats in the house and winning both the house and senate. I feel the same discontent now with the GOP and their president and feel that we could see as huge a swing as we did in '94. It's worth remembering that in '68 even though there was strong discontent in the air that Democrats did win control of both houses of Congress and we only lost the presidential race by a narrow margin.

10. Also, the Democrats have more seats than the GOP had in 94'.
