Just a maintenance thing? Reasons to watch Dr. Dill's site like a hawk --

1) VoteHere -- is it ever going to put its source code up? (Do we care?) Is Dr. Dill going to dump VoteHere or endorse it?

2) Sudden quietude, or "quitam-itude" would be of great interest. (why do I keep harping on this? Because I am recruited for a qui tam at least three times a week. Surely the same is happening with other activists.)

.com locked the first time, the second time it brought up the .org site.

Hey, this is strange then. If Dill's web site works for everyone but me, I'd like to get a little paranoid for a moment, if I may.

I have trouble getting to certain activists sites. It still won't go to Dill's site. Also blocks me from DU quite often. But only on one computer (the long-standing one I'm on now, that I generally don't hook up to the Internet.)

I accidentally left the modem in this one a few days ago and the firewall had its log erased.

Selective problems? Hmmmm.

I do know that Mark Crispin Miller had a hell of a time with his computer, and Will Pitt with his, seems like it was a few months ago. I just did -- my power supply in mine went down. Replaced that, but the modem was down too. Had a devil of a time getting it back up. Talked to mfg., ISP. Bought a new modem, didn't work. Talked to the modem people. Installed a newer version of ISP. Nothing worked. Finally got a techie to fix it.

I'll grant that computers break. And that activists' computers break is a reasonable assumption.

But, selective problems getting to certain sites is odd. Have you tried using different ISP? Or, borrowing a friend's ISP/name to test it out on your machine?

Just returned from weekend travel, sorry to see you are having difficulties reaching our site. I have no idea why you would be unable to reach it. Are you still experiencing difficulty?

BTW, the last thing I'd be doing is blocking users from accessing it - and honestly I can't imagine a reason I would wish to, unless perhaps to give myself more work and more stuff to keep track of. That's highly doubtful.

In the brief time I had access to the web over the weekend, I saw a post that one of your sites went down. Which one? Any apparent reasons?

but do you know anything about Joel Connelly? He writes the "In The Northwest" column in the PI. I'm working on him to do some investigating and to write an article. I sent him Ch. 2 of your book as a tease. I'll let you know what happens; if anything.

I think he's right wing -- but remember, Jim March is right wing. So that isn't a litmus test for who is likely to respond.

Every single time one of you guys sends something, calls someone, discusses the issue with an acquaintance it makes a real difference. I call it the "chaos factor" -- all those little buzzes are around, and at completely unexpected times one here, one there erupts into something very troublesome for the opponents of trustworthy voting.

I really appreciate what you did.
