2. Depends where you are.
There was a 3.3 near Palm Springs and there are clusters of microquakes in several areas.

see for yourself

3. What about cats and dogs and other animals?
If they're all going haywire, something is up. There were reports they went insane right before the tsunami came ashore in South Asia.

at least a month. Of course, that will do me NO GOOD if my house slides down the mountain, which I am afraid it might.

20. hello... november... autumn... MIGRATION!
Edited on Tue Nov-08-05 08:17 PM by pitohui
they're migrating, the blackbirds & their less talkative friends are arriving in force down here & they have quite a lot to say about it

since you talk of quakes, perhaps you are in california, did you know that some birds migrate west to east in the winter, mostly to the gulf coast, i have had the honor of hosting some of the western hummingbirds myself, they're pretty quiet tho

it's the blackbird species that raise all the cain

for some reason my conures are CONVINCED they have to answer ea. and every comment offered by ea. and every red-winged blackbird

this too shall pass

22. i get that, i just phrased my reply badly
my parrots are noisier than usual because they have to call back & forth to the newcomers to the neighborhood

their hearing is better than mine

when i step outside i realize what all the commotion is abt, they're talking to the blackbirds

26. I feel for you
I always take it seriously when my dogs are edgy. Animals do have
a sixth sense but maybe it's just something really innocent that's
set them off. Be prepared but don't make yourself sick with
worry. Poor parrots, poor you and no husband around. Sorry!!
I know what a sensible person you are, so believe me, I take whatever
you say very seriously. Try to relax and hopefully they'll calm
down. My animal buddies always seem know when I'm upset and in turn
they get upset. Even though your parrots started it, I'm sure they realize you're edgy now and so it goes.

28. Sun went down they went to sleep
but the neighboors are just a pain and it struck as boy is something in the air? When we just got them back they went nuts... we had the series of quakes... which reminded me to get my quake food ready... will go and get my rope kit out of the storage, just in case I need to abseil down... not that I am looking forwards to that, btw.

And the elections make me far more nervous right now

29. Birds in Northern California are going nuts because...
The Pyracantha and Cotoneaster berries have ripened. Some say the berries ferment and the birds get downright drunk, others say the berries contain a drug that makes them merry. In any event, the birds are having a grand party in my yard.
