Voting problems in Detroit

Started off right at the start of the day. High winds had knocked out power throughout the city (icluding some of our house). Power went down at a polling center within 15 minutes of the doors opening.

But that is secondary to what I just heard when I went in to vote. On the way out we stopped to talk to a pair of monitors. They said that a group of republicans had shown up at one of the polling centers and were challenging people and demanding to see their ID and such. This is all I have on the matter right now. If anyone else is hearing about this post it here.

Detroit has non-partisan elections. It's all Democrats running against each other! Why would the GOP even be involved?

But its not the first time. It may have something to do with the advercerial relationship between Dem Detroit and the Repub Suburbs. There actually is a bit of a water war going on here where Detroit provides and bills many of the burbs with their water. There have been some billing issues. Lot of accusations on both sides as well.
