I took a Virginia Politics class last Spring and he was one of the speakers. He was supposed to come at 7:30 and leave at 8:30 but he came early and stayed late. He's very quick and sharp. He may be a little too moderate on the big business issues for lefties (including me on few issues) but he is honest and tells it like it is. I trust him as much a one should trust a politician.
I'm hoping he runs for Pres, since he didn't run against George Allen in the Senate.
6. I couldn't get too terribly excited about him (former VA DUer here),
but just learned that his approval ratings are 70% (think I saw that on one of the Corporate Media channels last night). That's pretty impressive in VA -- lots of rural, NASCAR, and military.
She shook his hand and begged him to please run for president. She told him we desperately need him in the White House and he's our only hope to save the country. She went on and on like this for quite some time.
He just grinned at her and then proceeded on, took a couple of steps and then came back to her and said very seriously, "you may have a point." She was blown away by his sincerity and said he KNEW what she was implying.
