Virginia DUers: What Do You Think About Gov Warner?
He came on strong 4 years ago, but he's been sort of quiet on the national stage. Any chance for a presidential run?

What do you think? VP material maybe?

1. He'll run and would make a fine President.
I imagine he'll end up being Wes Clark's VP.

3. I like him a lot!
I took a Virginia Politics class last Spring and he was one of the speakers. He was supposed to come at 7:30 and leave at 8:30 but he came early and stayed late. He's very quick and sharp. He may be a little too moderate on the big business issues for lefties (including me on few issues) but he is honest and tells it like it is. I trust him as much a one should trust a politician.

I'm hoping he runs for Pres, since he didn't run against George Allen in the Senate.

4. I met him and he is a real nice guy.
I like what he has to say also.
I mentioned that a lot of people would like eto see him run for president, and he replied, "That might just happen"

5. Very good governor; worked hard to turn things around after
the mess Gilmore made of our Commonwealth.

6. I couldn't get too terribly excited about him (former VA DUer here),
but just learned that his approval ratings are 70% (think I saw that on one of the Corporate Media channels last night). That's pretty impressive in VA -- lots of rural, NASCAR, and military.

7. after meeting him again last night, I say he's got "it" even more than

he did in 2001.
He wouldn't say anything about 2008, because he might still run in 2006 against Sen. Allen (R-Doofus).

on edit: changed to "got" from "not." Doncha love how much difference one letter can change a sentence?

8. I have a girlfriend who recently met him
She shook his hand and begged him to please run for president. She told him we desperately need him in the White House and he's our only hope to save the country. She went on and on like this for quite some time.

He just grinned at her and then proceeded on, took a couple of steps and then came back to her and said very seriously, "you may have a point." She was blown away by his sincerity and said he KNEW what she was implying.

9. He would be a good Veep candidate for any Senator who get
the nomination for pres.

A really nice match for both Hillary or Richardson. would definitely put VA in play.
