5. Political reality regardless
He's a popular Southern governor who was followed by a Democrat into office in a state which only allows a single term as governor.

Regardless of anything else, the political reality is that Hillary Clinton took a hit for the '08 nomination with the Kaine win in Virginia.

besides Warner will need a Foriegn policy wonk Governonr have to pick folks with credentials.

My CHoice would be either Bill Richardson or Bob Graham. Richardson is Hispanic and we have never had a Veep with better Credential.

31. VP choices are strategic
You pick someone to put a vulneable state in play or you pick them on competence issue.

Edwards is a fine guy but he is an out of work senator who does not deliver something that Warner would not get on his own anyway.

40. Actually, Kerry lost NC. People vote for President
Late in the primaries, all polls were showing Edwards could beat Bush in NC.

We may be able to swing the state with the right candidate at the top of the ticket in 08. ("Right" meaning someone who appeals to Southerners and campaigns here---Kerry did not really campaign here).

30. Bob Grahams' ALREADY an OLD MAN
Junior PROVED that you need NO foreign policy credentials...in fact, Junior PROVED that you don't EVEN need a BRAIN to get into the WH.

At least Edwards/Warner or Warner/Edwards have BRAINS.

They'd probably be up against Howdy Doody George Allen, who was also a Governor of Virginia and he's as dumb as a box of rocks and he's another fake Cowboy wannabe...having been born and bred in California. Oh and he has NO foreign policy experience either.

39. I'm not 100% certain of Florida anymore
Weird shit always happens with the elections there. You know, Lawton Chiles was VERY popular...and yet Lawton Chiles Jr. ended up dropping out because of lack of support.

So with the Repuke pigs in the State Legislature and the Repuke pigs that will still be loyal to Jethro...I don't know about Florida anymore. The ENTIRE state needs a good house cleaning and some better voting machines.

13. Umm
When Warner was up, the Republicans had put this state into bigtime debt, between Gilmore and Allen people wanted change, he was not the first Dem elected Gov. in Virginia. I myself consider Virginia purple.

9. Richardson Warner....Warner Richardson
Edited on Tue Nov-08-05 09:40 PM by Perky
I doube he break out until South Carolina. Vilsack wins Iowa. Hillary wins NH

He is a Moderate Dem in a state that always votes GOP for pres. He has a 70% approval rating... I just don't know if he has the fire in the belly.

He would have to pic a VP with forign Policy background. Richardson would be the right choice. Best credential VP we have ever had.
