"(CBS/AP) The Internal Revenue Service has warned a prominent liberal church that it could lose its tax-exempt status because of an anti-war sermon a guest preacher gave on the eve of the 2004 presidential election, according to church officials."

when plenty of fundie and evangelical churches told their parishioners to vote specifically for *?
They need to fight this.

2. I think this is a landmine

Is is it Free SPeech issue or is it a 501 (3)(c) issue? If it wins then it legitimizes Dobson RObertson ans sll the FUndies.

If we lose it kills free speech from liberal pastors in the pulpit albeit we shut down the RWs from doin it...

Landmines everywhere.

The way to play this is martyrdom,, I suspect even Repuke Pastors would stand up in support of the Pastor because of theissues at stake.

WSe need to make it an insidious attack by the Neo-cons to stifle dissent ala Nixon.

Let it play out in the cour pof public opinion...loudly.
