They are reich-wingers from the word go, although my father-in-law has become surprisingly soft in his old age, even voting third party in the last presidential election.

But they both said, about a month ago, "if Virginia elects a Democratic governor, we're MOVING!"

They never said where to.

Think we should send them some boxes, tape, and bubble wrap?

Edit: they gave a LOT of money to the repuke candidate. I know they already had a Dem governor, but they were realllly REALLY hoping they'd get a repuke one. In fact, they sounded downright sure of it in emails to my husband of late. LOL.

1. Texas, Ohio or Kansas seem like appropriate destinations...
..at least if tonight is anything to go by...

We live here, and Dumbfuckistan already has too many of their ilk.

NO!
You gloat now, and the typical reaction is to dig in heels and fight all the harder for the next wacko.

14. Who's gloating?
I don't even talk to them. They email my husband (their son). They don't even talk on the phone to each other.

I just know they are two VERY depressed people tonight. And I'm wondering if they'll make good on their promise to move...

18. Possibly my mistake
But I would take the receipt of boxes, bubble wrap, and tape as gloating.

Like in 2000 when a bunch of celebrities said if Bush wone they would leave the country, then there were RW jokes going around about taking up collections for plane tickets to France, etc.

My 2 cents. Peace.

24. You are always humble, I didn't think you were the target of the
post above. You guys did a great job with the Katrina displaced and some of us actually remember. (I reply, with the below to poster, not the above Reply.) I think it was a mistake BB.

26. Eh, I think that person did indeed mean me, but I don't recall
ever being mean to him or her or even seeing their name.

And btw, THANKS!!!

:hi:

Side story on that: we recently tried to have a neighborhood garage sale and no one could really put out much because, well, no one has much to sell since Katrina and Rita! So they were these pitiful little garage sales, LOL.

27. Yeah, If I lived where you did, I would give all my leftovers away
too! I want to move and I am going thru the donate (most of my expensive furniture to the church which would go directly to those who need and would appreciate it) or try to sell it?

I know, that I want to travel light and either way, I am not moving that heavy furniture!

Some people don't get charity, and never will, I call them ME ME's.

When, I first came to DU, I thought MEME (meant ME, ME ME) too funny!

I think you are a really wonderful individual who did so much in the face of Katrina, that if an ignorant person, like the above poster, doesn't know you (their loss) don't worry. It truly is THEIR LOSS!

As long as it's all the way across the state or something. The panhandle would be ok. Or keep going to Utah or Idaho or something.

They're not going to move anyway, they're full of it.

25. My mother in law became a fundamentalist
born-again Christian shortly after 9/11 and started sending us masses of forwarded emails about how she's praying for us because we're Democrats and stuff.

I asked her nicely to stop (more than once) and she wouldn't so I blocked her email address.

31. Yes.
There ended up being three families. All but one adult have found jobs. The one adult has two babies to look after, but her husband has a job, found one right away!

They're doing well, the kids are doing ok in school, and they say they aren't going back.

don't get it! It is going to be a long, hard slog, DR's words to get our country back, but NJ and Va showed the the Repub's tonight,
you (the rest of the country) are on notice!

You are in Houston, right? If you need help with anything let me know. I, remember your drive to find someone to Help, your family is an exception to the rule! They removed the above poster, I suggest you do the same (from your brain). Just remember, He said, they will hate you because you follow me!

35. They would spontaneously combust.
Back in her more laid back days, my mother in law had a lot of gay friends.

Nowdays she condemns them all to hell. She's a lost woman, I tell you. Lost in a labyrinth of hate.
