I want to be prepared to answer my in-law when he says that Iraq was a Liberal inspired war because the NYTs was behind the deceit.

1. the nyt has been a white house mouthpiece for years now-- nothing
liberal about it.

didn't realize that the repukes could even spin that this was a "liberal" war--do they honestly think even the sheeples are so stupid they are going to buy that?

4. Of course they'll think it's a Liberal paper who fooled us into war.
16 years ago I had a disagreement with my brother in-law because he said only Democrats have taken us into war. I told him that Eisenhauer was responsible for committing us to Vietnam, and he said, that wasn't a war, it was a conflict. (I told him that the 54,000 Americans who died in that war might disagree with that assessment.)

So, yeah, I expect them to see Judith Miller as a Liberal unless someone has information to tell them differently.

5. This Was A Deliberate Game...
I have to give Tweety credit for his piecing this puzzle together nicely. Miller was the plant (willingly) who pushed the stories that ended up being cited by Chenney and Rice and other talking heads that gave tremendous credibility to many sheeple who might have had second thoughts about this immoral invasion.

There were lies that led to Vietnam, but they weren't pushed in such a coordinated effort. Remember, in the 50's and early 60's, both parties were trying to show how tough they were on Commies and prior to the landing of any American ground troops at Ia Drang in '65 most people had no clue where Viet Nam was, yet alone any reason why not to "Send in the Marines". It was a different mindset then.

Of course Vietnam was a war...whenever you have thousands of guys running around with guns shooting at each other, that constitutes a war. It was also a conflict...but not just one...many.

This regime had the popular support to push through their Iraq war...especially after 9/11...but they wanted more. They wanted (and got) total control with no oversight or realistic projections. This Times piece was planted to put pressure on Congresscritters to abrogate their powers to wage war to the Executive and this is a key issue that needs to be focused on...and I suspect it will.

2. It wasn't Miller placing her lies on the front page
Go to look further up the food chain at NYT to identify all the guilty parties there.
