1. Why thank you.

We intend to enjoy our newly immigrated GLBT taxpayers, and their outrageous lawn ornaments :-)

3. Oh skids, we need to talk about lawn
ornaments!
I'm in TX and this state failed miserably. :(
I guess I should have expected it, but I
didn't.

9. I love New England- moving back there as soon as we can!!!
I grew up in Maine, and lived in NY for a long time- now I am in Madison. As soon as I am done with my phd, I am done with the midwest. And we could even get married in Mass or Conn now!!

11. Yep
You can get a civil union in CT or VT, or a marriage in Mass.

Congratulations! :)

10. Texas Has abolished Marriage!!! My husband says
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 09:12 AM by Melissa G
we are the one allowed still married couple and all our friends are single...

Article I, Texas Constitution, (The Bill of Rights) is amended by adding Section 32 to read as follows:

(a) MARRIAGE in this state shall consist only of the union of one man and one woman.

(b) THIS STATE or a political subdivision of THIS STATE MAY NOT CREATE OR RECOGNIZE ANY LEGAL STATUS IDENTICAL or similar to MARRIAGE.

So (b) dissolves the institution.. The Lone Star State is now The Singles State (LOL! gives a new meaning to the single star..) except for that one married couple allowed in (a) no none else can marry or be recognized as such...and my husband wants to claim that status for us...

Texas is also a community property state... should be fun! Can't wait to watch the lawsuit(s)!

edit clarity
