Bush Gambles, Loses on Virginia Governor's Race
http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGBGJRT5TFE.html

Harriet Miers. Things couldn't possibly get any worse for President Bush.

Wait, they just did.

Bush put his wispy political prestige on the line in the Virginia governor's race and lost Tuesday when the candidate he embraced in a last-minute campaign stop was soundly defeated. While there are many reasons for Jerry Kilgore's defeat, chief among them his poor campaign, giddy Democrats said the Virginia race as well as a Democratic victory in New Jersey prove that Bush is a political toxin for Republicans.

"The arrogance of saying, 'I'm the Great George Bush. I'm coming to Virginia in the 12th hour and pulling Kilgore's bacon out of the fire.' I think he rallied Democrats with that move," said Steve Jarding, a Democratic political consultant who helped elect Virginia's current governor, Mark Warner.

"Democratic voters said, 'I'll send you a message, George Bush, if that's what you want.'"

1. Well, Kilgore avoided Bush.
I believe Kilgore snubbed Bush earlier this month. At this point, Kilgore probably knew that Bush is radioactive.

And yet Bush insisted on showing up and torpedoing his chances. This is yet again, proof that Bush's media people are idiots. They should have kept the fool home.

I posted on another thread that this was probably more to help Bush than it was to help Kilgore. The way it turned out, they both sunk each other.

3. Probably
They probably thought that. I'm glad it backfired. It really sent a message I think. Bush walked in with his little strut and wanting to show how he's loved and the republicans are still in power but it failed. I can't wait till 2006 now!

5. Bu$h had to show up. He is the leader of the repukelickin party.
And the repukes wanted Virginia really bad. He could not even throw out a first pitch at any of the Astro`s world series games. The former Texas governor and now pResident. Can go to controlled appearances like he just had with Kilgore. But to really get out amongst the people like Bill Clinton did and still does. No way. Alot of Americans do not like the lying murderous scum that is George W. Bu$h.
Peace
Wildman

6. Yup. They lost.
I hope they're all sweating this morning, as their trembling hands reach for a big cup of black coffee. The cup shakes as they pour the coffee down their dry throats.

They have beads of sweat on their foreheads. They KNOW the jig is up.

Incidentally, someone posted a photo of Barbara and Poppy Bush at some baseball game. This darling couple sat right behind the batter's cage, so the poor public was forced to watch them throughout the whole game. On the photo, they looked really strange. They had a gaunt look. They looked like hunted animals! Very prophetic.
