Lets play Predict-a-Pundit: what will the talking heads say tonight?

KRAUTHAMMER: "This just goes to show that dirty politics win in New Jersey, a very dirty state for politics. Jon Corzine ran a contemptible campaign, and unfortunately gutter politics work."

LIASSON: "But you have to admit that Forrester ran a pretty nasty campaign too, what with his ex-w-"

BARNES: (folding arms furiously) "That was kids stuff compared to the dirty tricks Corzine used. It shows that money can buy anything, even a governorship."

LIASSON: "But Michael Bloomberg also sp-"

KRAUTHAMMER: "There's simply no comparison, and its ridiculous to compare the two. I may not agree with Michael Bloomberg, but he ran an above-the-board campaign that offered ideas where the Democrats had nothing."

HUME: "Is this a trend that bodes well for the Democrat Party in '06, or is it a fluke never to be repeated? More after this. Smirk scowl smirk."

1. Michael Barone: "Most Americans are Republican and conservative"
"I mean if you look at this pipsqueak little county in rural Virginia where nobody lives, Kilgore just won a huge majority. This cleary suggests Democrats aren't connecting with values voters. They only won Virginia and New Jersey in a fluke".

3. TWEETY: "Howard Fineman, this wasn't a referendum on Bush, was it?"
FINEMAN: (arching eyebrow) "No, but the Democrats want to play it that way."

TWEETY: "So they're playing politics with politics? HA! Tucker Carlson, what do you think?"

CARLSON: "I don't think it r-r-r-eally means anything. T-t-t-his is just a boring election in an offyear, and its too early to read anything into this."
