my bornagain, 2 time bush votin' brother has turned on gee dubya
praise the lord and pass the crow sandwiches, my dyed in the wool republican bush loving born again little bro has turned on dubya! his main reason is the war, even though he's trumpeted bush as the saviour of all america for four years now, the war has turned him against the god appointed one.

and it's the only issue apparently that did the trick. he didn't mention harriet miers, or john roberts, or alito, or abortion, or gay marriage or any of those other red meat issues, just his hatred of the war.

i'm sure it's a trend, but it's a refreshing trend anyways.

2. he knows jesus wouldn't approve of all that needless slaughter
he can't justify his chrisitianity with the president's. he's come to believe that bush was never really born again, and that it was all a cheap act that took him and millions of others in. he feels betrayed, and he feels that war is about the most un christian thing there is.

but he did finally turn on bush, after twice voting for him.

5. I was wondering because
I had a similar experience with a coworker-thought he was against the war for the slaughter, the horror, the suffering-seems he was turning against it because he thought it would lower gas prices and didn't.

17. Finally!
Geez, i knew in 1999, when he first started making noises about the White House, that his "born again" status was an act! To quote Jon Lovitz in League of Their Own, "Well, look who just caught up!"

10. What did he like about him or was he always a Rep?
I have asked people why they voted for him and I usually get this. He went to war to get the
'
' terrorist that took down the WTC and we needed to get rid of Saddam.

12. We must receive them with open arms when they have seen the light...
...and repented of their foolish ways.

It's the Liberal thing to do. ;-)

Thanks for sharing your good news, Mopaul.

seal the deal!:
Consider one memo highlighted in a Capitol Hill hearing Wednesday that Scanlon, a former aide to Rep. Tom DeLay, R-Tx., sent the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana to describe his strategy for protecting the tribe's gambling business. In plain terms, Scanlon confessed the source code of recent Republican electoral victories: target religious conservatives, distract everyone else, and then railroad through complex initiatives:

Mobilization

We plan to use three forms of communications to mobilize and win these battles. Phones, mail and Christian radio. We believe that if you are on TV you are generally losing battles like this. Our mission is to get specifically selected groups of individuals to the polls to speak out AGAINST something.

To that end, your money is best spent finding them and communicating with them on using the modes that they are most likely to respond to. Simply put we want to bring out the wackos to vote against something and make sure the rest of the public lets the whole thing slip past them. The wackos get their information from the Christian right, Christian radio, mail, the internet and telephone trees. (Oct. 2001)
