DUer Loses Close Local Election
Well, I lost a close one last night.

I finished eighth in a nine field race.

However, I was just 45 votes from seventh, and 91 votes from sixth place (which would have been a win in our school board race). The total vote cast was over 8,000.

I, and many others, worked as hard as we could have. I know how folks who lose a close election feel now. I feel worse for my loyal supporters and family than I do for myself.

To all my interested DU friends, I say thank you for you interest and support.

We'll keep our heads up high, for today is another day.

10. Congratulations!
In my opinion you deserve recognition and gratitude for running. Remember all the successful politicians who lost their first several races. I want to thank you for volunteering when so many of us can't, don't or won't.

I'm very sorry you did not win.

14. Congratulations for running the good race !
A few years ago, my friend came in last in a 8 field race for City Council and he savored every vote as a victory (as in, 2200 people liked his message!). With that inspiration, he did win a seat 4 years later. Please stay inspired, we need you too :hi:

17. We lost, too, lewis
The best part, though, is that you got involved. I know how hard you must have worked, and how heartbreaking it is to lose.

Please know that the only way any of us will ever change the system is by getting involved. Congratulations for doing so, and for caring so much about your community.

26. A good time to study Lincoln's election history.....
The number of failures he had before finally making it to President will enourage anybody to keep trying.

Thank-you for trying!!!!!
