1. The Moment He Is Sworn In
Not sure how the New Jersey Constitution works the deal, but I would imagine.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised to have his replacement announced in the next couple days...ready to be in place when Corzine takes over the Governership and his seat is then given to another Democrat.

My bets are still for Corzine naming Bob Menendez to the seat...a longtime, loyal Jersey Dem...and a Cuban, too.

2. After he gets sworn in, I think - Is it January or could it come sooner?

5. Yes It Could...
Corzine will have to resign his Senate seat...and can do so at any time. Since the New Jersey Governor is a Democrat...and I assume the state Houses are, Corzine could resign now and name his replacement and have the current Governor appoint his replacement.

3. Corzine will be sworn in as Governor in January.
He has time before he has to leave the Senate and appoint his successor.
