Anyone just catch that phone call with the army recruiter on CSPAN?

HAHAHA! The recruiter boasted that recruiting is up this quarter, and for the year it will only be down about 4%.

So the CSPAN host took a call. It was from a guy who's 32 YEARS old, who thanked God the army finally took him, after being rejected before because of "some minor scrapes with the law in my youth."

I wonder if that call was a hoax...it was hilarious to anyone who paid attention. Too damned funny. The caller basically demonstrated that the Army has lowered its admittance standards since the war began, and because recruitment efforts have failed so miserably.

I was going to tell everyone not to believe a word of what the General was saying.

Closed VA hospitals, no medical, military refusing to honor promises made in enlistment contracts, etc.

I believe that recruiters are less popular/trusted than even used car salesmen these days. :(

It's a commentary on the availability of meaningful employment under the Bushco regime. People who are hard pressed make a commitment of several years of their lives only if they can see no other alternative.
