Election Recap: Chat With The Fix

The Fix's Chris Cillizza will be online Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. ET to recap yesterday's election results and analyze what several big wins for Democrats mean for next year's elections.

Submit a question for Chris here.

Here's Chris's election piece from this morning's Post: "Corzine Defeats Forrester to Become N.J. Governor: Bloomberg Wins Easily; Texas Passes Gay-Marriage Ban."

...The OTHER Races...

A quick recap of yesterday's big races beyond New Jersey and Virginia:

* New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg (R), as expected, coasted to reelection.

* Longtime Boston Mayor Thomas Menino (D) won reelection tonight as well. Official results are online here.

* In Texas, a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage was approved in overwhelming numbers (nearly three-quarters of all votes cast), making the Lonestar State the 19th in the country to pass such a law.

* Maine voters rejected a measure that would have repealed that state's gay rights law.

* A lone bright spot for Republicans came in Ohio where all four measures aimed at taking power away from state government were soundly rejected by voters. State Issue 4, which would have removed redistricting from the hands of state legislators, was losing by a massive 70 percent to 30 percent margin with more than 1.3. million votes cast. Results on Issue 4 are online here.

* St. Paul Mayor Randy Kelly (D) was walloped by former city Councilman Chris Coleman (D) on Tuesday as he sought a second term. Kelly sealed his fate last year when turned his back on the party to endorse President George W. Bush's reelection. Track returns here.

* Charlotte's GOP incumbent mayor -- Pat McCrory -- won reelection.

* Houston Mayor Bill White won handily in his bid for another term.

* Democrat Bob O'Connor won the Pittsburgh mayor's race.

* Former Police Chief Jerry Sanders will be San Diego's next mayor.
