1. Well, they are certainly out of the mainstream for California...
I was about to say pretty much all rural counties are, but if Mendocino is considered a rural county, or Humboldt, that wouldn't be true, would it?

2. Placer county imo is not really rural, some parts are but it's got
a lot of new subdivisions. Medocino is one place i would love to live.

7. Placer and El Dorado Counties
particularly the southern and western parts have become bedroom communities for Sac and even high tech employers in their own right. They consist of a lot of McMansions full of people mortgaged up to their ass and beyond who vote repub because they think they are the "haves". These are people with household incomes of no more than $125,000 with nothing to fall back on whne the economy takes a big crap. Be interesting to watch the voting patterns change as some of these jobs go to New Delhi.

12. Looks like they hate kids and unions here in Butte County, CA
http://vote2005.ss.ca.gov/Returns/prop/04.htm

At least the others were NO. I am really surprised at the low numbers as my precint had at least 50% voter turnout, but then again the canyon that I live in has more independent thinkers. :)

(North Shore, Lake Tahoe) for six years and it was great...Although, now I live in very liberal, progressive Humboldt County (Eureka/Arcata) and it's the best place, one can imagine, anywhere, since I moved away from my hometown, San Francisco!!!

17. Am I reading this correctly ?
I must be reading this wrong (and no I'm not being funny)
Alpine country, which is known to be very Republican, voted down all the props except for the RX prop. San Diego county, voted for 73, 74 and 75 and the rest of the props failed, that just doesn't seem right.

San Diego voters that voted for those props should be ashamed. Why in the hell would you shit on public workers, especially teachers? My sons school is so full and they are so short on teachers that they had to combine 2nd and 3rd graders. Why in the hell would San Diego want to do this to their teachers, for shame!

camping there. I ignore the freeperish people. Most of California, geographically, is conservative especially the rural areas. The liberals are all clustered on the coasts and the big cities. Fortunately the liberal population outnumbers the conservatives. In my county, which is mostly rural, two of the Arnold props passed. So we have to be ever vigilant to get out the liberal vote as much as we can.
