Dover, PA school board ousted (intelligent design)
Dems really cleaned up here

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/11/09/tech/main1027359.shtml

(CBS/AP) Voters came down hard Tuesday on Dover, Pa., school board members who ordered a statement on intelligent design read in biology class, ousting eight Republicans and replacing them with Democrats who want the concept stripped from the science curriculum.

1. From the York Dispatch ...

Dover CARES sweeps school dir. seats

"Dover CARES candidates swept eight seats available on the Dover Area School Board in tonight's election, according to unofficial vote totals from the York County elections office.
Sixteen candidates sought the eight seats and were split into two camps, based largely on the issue of intelligent design.

"Dover CARES candidates think that if intelligent design is referenced, it should be in an elective course, such as comparative religion.

"The incumbent school board members who were ousted in Tuesday's election favor mentioning intelligent design in biology classes. ... "

2. WooooooooHoooooooo!
This shall stand as a warning to fundidiots who are contemplating similar crap in their own districts. A head on a pike, if you will.

The people who promote 'intelligent design' are the best proof that it never happened.

6. And, one county away from the Dover victory ... Dems take over Lancaster!
... in Lancaster City (in the heart of redder-than-red Lancaster County), the City Council went from a 4-3 Repug majority to an ALL-DEMOCRAT COUNCIL in yesterday's election!!! In addition, Democrat Rick Gray won the mayor's race over two-term Repug Charlie "Boss Hogg" Smithgall (if you saw Charlie in action, you'd know the Boss Hogg nickname is completely appropriate).

How about them apples? The city went from Repug control to complete Democrat control in one sweet day.
