Barbara Boxer vs Big Oil
REgarding the closing of a refinery in Calif.. Made statements that weren't true. (Shell) He responds that they had "shopped the refinery around" and got no buyers.. It was what they considered an "old & small" one and that's why they wanted to close it. She has just finished talking about how local outrage at it's potent ital closing "the AG had to force you to open your books" It seemed to us that there was a desire to short the market

(and her time expires)

1. Let me say it again
Nationalize the oil, nat gas, and coal industries.
Halve the defense budget, and presto, we can recreate the middle class.

5. I agree. That's what Hugo is doing
and it would probably halve the underclass of working poor.

3. These bigwigs aren't testifying though
They can say anything! They're not under oath. Chair REFUSED to have them sworn in.

7. Now the oil guys are saying
(basically) that they don't need the tax breaks, if they can have access Ron Wyden (D) Oregon is going to propose leg. tomorrow to get that money back..."Do I have your support?"

(It sounds like they'd trade the tax breaks for "access".. probably to get permission to rip up anything they think might have oil under it)
