"Well i guess when someone takes their underage daughter out of school to have an abortion and she dies they'll be sorry they voted no on prop 73"

"It's like a wake today, goodbye yellow brick road"

this is in california if you couldn't tell that already.

1. Same here in Seattle
Waaa Waaa Waaa.

Funny how they don't use the "The People have Spoken" line when the people have spoken against them.

2. Well, surely it can't be because people hate the Republicans
After all, what have Republicans done in the last, oh, say 10 years, that might be objectionable? Must be some other reason for huge voter turnouts to blow Arnie's little pet projects out of the water so decisively.

12. OMG no WAY.
LOL!

Well, shit, they're never happy about anything, anyway. In 2004, they should have been dancing in the streets, but instead they were going around crying "WAH, BUT THE DEMOCRATS ARE STILL ALIVE!!!"

20. The best was about four or five months ago when
I read on Media Matters that rush limpballs was on his radio show crying and gnashing his teeth and saying that Kennedy and a couple of other Dem Senators SINGLE-HANDEDLY keep the repukes in Congress from doing anything.

Wow. I had no idea three Senators could be so powerful!

It belies their other message, which is "we can do whatever we want."

Well if they can, why do they cry and whine even when they have control of all three branches? They're NEVER happy, ever. They get the power, and then they don't want the responsibility that comes with it. Like a child:

cartoonish super villainy to the RWers. Haha. (apologies to the Simpsons)

Frist's 'lil  press conference last week made me wonder what kind of piercing shriek he would scream if he saw a mouse in his office. Does he have staffers who go on "spider patrol"?

6. If someone takes their underage daughter out of school
to have an abortion she's less likely to die because it will be done in a safe manner by a medical professional instead of in a back alley by who knows who. That commentator needs to read his history.

37. Not only that, but an underage girl...
is much more likely to die in childbirth than from an abortion.

I bet he would never bring up that little tidbit on air.

33. True, BUT....
The media is spinning this across the board as a big loss for Bush, and I'll take those kinds of headlines any day.

And it's more than just a handful of bills--the props that went down here in California were a significant victory for us. Very, very significant.

16. Statement Two makes no sense at all!
If someone is taking their daughter out of school for an abortion, well, I'm just spitballing here, but I would guess they have been notified of the pending abortion, which was the point of 73 in the first place.

21. chimpsrsmarter ... You live in Cali so you know the horror that "some"
young females would face having to get parental permission to get an abortion. I live in LA and my neighbors are mostly hispanic catholics. Can you IMAGINE if they come home to tell pops they are pregnant? Thier dad will literally kill them for getting pregnant - forget about the abortion - they wouldn't even make it to the clinic. I'm not some huge fan of abortion, but I also have common sense that in a lot of cases, the idea of getting your parents permission would be deadly to some kids. I don't know why the RW doesn't understand this. They are living in a fantasy world or something. Recommended BTW

24. I guess the right thinks that if abortion wasn't possible...
without parental notification then the fear that these young women have of their fathers would keep them from even having sex, which is what they really want.

25. "The unions got their people put to the polls, i guess--ah we didn't"
Hmmm, the unions got their people to the polls to vote to preserve unions's ability to use dues to make political contributions. Is this not a rank and file endorsement of this practice? I guess this rationalization for support of such legislation is out the window. Next?

31. Women don't die when they have SAFE pregnancy terminations
in a sterile clean professional place, they DIE when underage daughters who are knocked up by their 'christian' perverted fathers go have 'secret' abortions in back allies. What dumbass even said that statement?

32. See, MY underage daughter will be taught BY ME not to be ashamed
of her sexuality and not to be afraid to tell me anything. Hopefully, due to the fact that I intend to educate her about sexuality, reproduction and contraception, she won't NEED an abortion because she'll have the tools to make the right decisions. But if she does need one, she'll know she can come to me without fear of being kicked out, humiliated or beaten.

That's where the stupid RWers just don't get it. They teach their children to be ashamed of their bodies and their natural desires. They keep their children ignorant and fearful. So naturally the RWers want laws to force medical professionals to narc on their kids because they don't want to be bothered to have honest and open communication.
