"Kansas Education Board declared legally insane."
Yes it's true..."Chew Toys" exclusive:
http://blogs.salon.com/0004725/

"School board member Kathy Martin looks to put Kansas public schools on the cutting edge of 16th century science. School nurses will also be taught the art of blood letting. Said board member Janet Waugh, who voted against the new cirriculum, "This is a sad day, not only for Kansas kids, but for Kansas. We're becoming a laughingstock, not only of the nation, but of the world." We at Chew Toys aren't laughing, we're weeping."

from any poison. (the bullet is used to bite in order to counter the pain) DUH :eyes:

19. Actually, this DOES work to cauterize a wound...
But just the same, fuck these Kansas fundies. They'll quickly find that Kansas isn't just a laughingstock, their students will be behind the rest of the nation, as far as biology goes.

6. A few years ago, the board tried this and the Republican Gov
said it would embarass the state. He abolished or threatened to abolish the state school board and it was reversed.

It's time for the will of the people. They'll probably begin teaching earth science according to the Old Testament as well. Now that will be fun.

13. Actually, the board did remove all refs to evolution.
But that obviously created a worldwide uproar and that board was voted out. The new board then reversed the old board's science standards back to include evolution. However, on the coattails of an antigay referendum, this new board was swept in. And the rest is history.

10. When do the Board members come back up for election?
It is probably too much to hope for a Pennsylvania style wholesale dismissal of the entire board (sorry, Kansas, you seem a bit too far gone), but perhaps they can knock off a few.

Especially if you have or want kids and want them to have the best education possible. With a solid foundation in Intelligent Design as part of the science curriculum, they'll no doubt be sought after by the best science/technology departments of the best universities around the world.
:sarcasm:

Actually, they might be admitted to Bob Jones University or some other university of that ilk.

A typical scenario:

Admissions department of a well-know university:

Admissions Officer 1: Well, here's the new crop of applicants for our prestigious science program.
Admissions Officer 2: Where did this one graduate from?
AO 1: A high school in Kansas...
AO 1 and AO 2 look at each other, say nothing for a moment, then burst out in hysterical laughter.
AO 1: What say? Shall we put this in "the file?"
AO 2: My thought exactly!

The application is tossed into a wastebasket marked "Kansas"

26. From a KS native (hard to admit) . . .
. . . I have to agree with your assessment.

I don't tell people who know me that I am from Kansas. Even with its great history (we voted ANTI-slave folks!), I am now officially embarrassed to admit I'm from that state.

24. Univ. of Kansas Honors Tesla and Rolls out New Tesla Machine
Let's stop the mockery here, all right. Seriously, there is some progress being made.

The U of KA just announced the Tesla Chair of Electrical Engineering at their Graduate School. The major professorial grant will support those who elaborate on the long neglected Tesla machine:

New U of Kansas Tesla machine (this one's for weather).

Edith Gaschmertz, Chairman of the Kansas Board of Education said: "We're building a world-class center in Kansas for the study of the real truth in science. Have a blessed day."

31. Well, that makes sense. They do so much evil shit (like spoiling
the air we breathe to the point of killing us all pretty soon) it makes you wonder:freak:

But then again, I'm underestimating simple and vile human greed.

They are here to steal everything that's not nailed down.

(Although, you might look into the Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man";)
