National Front Party in France
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 03:21 PM by RGBolen
The leader of this right wing party Jean-Marie Le Pen said "What does that mean? Are they French because they have a French identity card?" regarding French citizens of immigrant descent.

I could see this from our right here, guess if I am in a protest they could say "you think your being born here makes you an American? We're shipping your ass to Dublin." Yes I know the people in France are doing a bit more criminal activity than protesting, but scary thought as to where it could go.

They got 17% of the vote. Scary stuff.
He denies the holocaust and lost his eye while attacking a political enemy.

3. He does not deny the Holocaust - (not really better, but he says
it was not that important).

The guy is scary, but it is because he is scary that he never came in power, as tin other parts of Europe (Austria, Nederlands, Italy, ...).

6. I'm afraid the continuing riots play directly in the National Fronts hands
They could actually emerge from this greatly strengthened, a serious political party and that is both hideous and terrifying.

7. These people are seeking "repatriation"
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 03:41 PM by SoCalDem
Nationalistic organizations are not just in France.. Anti-immigrant sentiment is pervasive in lots of Europe..There is a good documentary that runs a lot on Link TV about Iranians being discriminated against ..These Iranians have lived there for ages and are a family of doctors, yet they are treated badly..In the documentary there's a guy who is sure that the reason HE's not doing well is because of the "foreigners"..He ends up moving back to his parents' hometown, and readily accepts the "assistance" housing he and his wife get, but he's not willing to move to where a job might be..just attends "party meetings" where they fly a lot of flags, sing a lot and bash immigrants..Sound familiar?

The doctor who is a primary figure in the documentary visits the US (and his brother) and is leaning toward leaving what he considers his home because of the mean spiritedness of the "locals"..

I forgot just which country ..I think denmark, but I'm not sure..

France & the other countries grappling with this issue only have 2 choices, and either one will piss off half of the people..

1. They repatriate and lock out future immigrants
2. The set about making REAL change for the people already there, and try to slow the future immigration..

Empire has consequences for FUTURE generations..

10. They've been hailing it as proof
that multiculturalism doesn't work. For example:

"The French ruling liberal elite appear to be paralysed by recent events but former presidential contender Jean Marie le Pen, Leader of the patriotic French Front National has called upon the Chirac government to declare a state of emergency; thereby allowing armed troops to patrol those trouble hit towns, instead of the civilian police forces which are suffering from fatigue and lack of experience.

It is becoming increasingly obvious to all indigenous Europeans that the multi-cultural experiment, forced upon almost every western European country in the past 40 years has well and truly failed, and all those European nations which contain a potential fifth-column of inassimilable Muslim and African immigrants, from the UK to Italy, Spain to Sweden must question just how those in charge of law enforcement are today prepared to deal with a similar situation across towns and cities in their respective nations.
