JORDAN BOMBED: Is the US War in Iraq to Blame?
We are the ones who are fanning the flames of muslim extremism with our war in Iraq. We are the ones who are giving them invaluable real life training in the battlefields of Iraq. Are countries like Jordan paying so that Dick Vader's company Halliburton can make profits and Monkey Boy can play Commander in Chief?

And just days ago, Australia stopped a massive terrorist attack. Last summer London was attacked. Where does it end?

How long before the UN and the rest of the world realize that Bush-Cheney are not merely failing to make the world a safer place, they are making the world a much more dangerous place FOR PEOPLE EVERYWHERE!

5. Possibilities
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 04:16 PM by Behind the Aegis
There is a strong possibility that because American contractors stay over in Jordan, it has become a target. However, that has been happening for awhile, so why attack now? Another possibility is that Hamas was just rejected by Jordan two days ago to move their HQ there (they are getting kicked out of Syria as is Islamic Jihad). They also were rejected from Egypt, so if it was Hamas, Egypt could get hit again. A third possibility is it was an attack on the Jordanian PM. His car was seen at one of the hotels. So, it could be political.

However, it is best to wait and see what is happening.

7. That is VERY good to hear!
So the PM was not a victim? But could he have been a target?

9. Too simplistic
The killing has been going on in that region for thousands of years...it's all about Jerusalem...

Jerusalem was conquered 3,000 years ago by King David.
In A.D.70, Titus sent his troops into Jerusalem and slaughtered the Jews until their blood literally streamed downed the streets.

The Romans slaughtered the Jews of Jerusalem a second time in 135 A.D. under Hadrian.

In 1099, the Crusaders, marched under the sign of the cross, stormed into Jerusalem to claim the city for Christ. Again, the streets of the city ran with blood as the Crusaders killed more than 40,000 people and set fire to synagogues. In one synagogue, 969 Jewish men, women and children were herded into a synagogue and set ablaze by the Crusaders. As the people screamed for mercy, the Crusaders stood outside and sang, "Christ We Adore Thee."

"The jihad will continue ... You have to understand our main battle is Jerusalem ... It is not their capitol. It is our capitol."
–Arafat speech in Johannesburg, South Africa, May 1994

"By Allah, I swear ... that the Palestinian people are prepared to sacrifice the last boy and the last girl so that the Palestinian flag will be flown over the walls, the churches and the mosques of Jerusalem."

13. Can you name a region where the killing has not?

Which (populated) locations of the world have not experienced wars for thousands of years?

I get so tired of that statement concerning the middle east. During that same thousands of years, the region has experienced several spans of uninterrupted peace for centuries at a time. A few examples:

o Jewish diaspora til the rise of Islam.

o After the establishment of the first Islamic Caliphate until the Shiite/Sunni split.

o After the establishment of the Ottomon Empire until the First World War.

Like that last one? The region was peaceful for 500 of the last 600 years.

14. Deflection is not refutation
You can't hide from the ebb and flow of history.
Christians, Muslims and Jews have staked out that spot forever...and will continue fighting for it no matter how "civilized" the world thinks it has become.

12. bush* now has 10,001 'people of interest' dossiers! Tell me how you
REALLY feel, why doncha! Unfortunately there is nothing the UN can do. They cannot use 'regime change' as an excuse to invade a sovereign country...only bush* can do that.

I guess bush* has to add all the people who responded to your post as well, since we ALL agree with you!
