OK here's the plan. Gay and Lesbians should marry each other
Hell I'd even volunteer to marry a gay man.

Get the TAX and HEALTH benefits sign powers of attorney for one another allowing their partners to make health emergency related decisions.

Pose and adopt children together and live in one big house.

So like I marry my gay friend. His boyfriend comes and lives with him in the house. We adopt kid with my friend or I'll offer to be a surrogate mom and he and his boyfriend are the parents and I be the kick ass auntie. Then when I meet the man of my dreams he moves in and we have kids and they are best friends with my gay friend and their kid.

WE take trips together.
Go to ball games!
Oh and go to church all six of us.

Plus the house will be beautiful because 2 gay men and one black woman!
I'd even volunteer to be a surrogate mom. Hell.

Fuck'em don't let the bastards get you down. Play their game and beat them.

If we have to put up with The "L" Word, and you ban all gay pornos from the house (for the sake of the children :o ), there will be war. We need those on the big screen (size queens that we are).

9. I can't stand the L word. I don't mind gay porn cuz the men are hot
I just get jealous.

Screw the kids. They better have their boney asses in the fuckin bed.

I'd love a big screen knowing the queens that I know it would be the most beautifully framed plasma in the world. They'd have to fork out the dough for that. Queens are rolling in the money everyone knows that.

In exchange for being such an awesome roomie I get free and frequent fashion advice. They search for me a man and They do the decorating I'll do the cleaning. Someone must be hired to do the lawn and one of them must cook. I'll make the drinks. And Chihuahua's and Pugs all around!

YEAH FUCKIN HOO!

I can't cook worth a shit. And...I want a big sloppy lab who has to lick everybody, including your pug! If the Chihuahua is frisbee shaped, all the better.

I will find you a great man if you can coach me in getting a hot bubbled ass that you can set your drinks on when I'm standing up! "Hey! Don't walk off with my drink!"

4. This was sometimes done in the old days of Hollywood.
Specifically, Robert Taylor and Barbara Stanwyck were married. Hollywood insiders knew they both were gay and it made a good cover for them.

I think though it would be better for society to recognize gay people as having the same rights as the rest of us though.

not being talked about.

My favorite line from Steel Magnolias from Clairee "Well, you know what they say: if you don't have anything nice to say about anybody, come sit by me!"

I was looking for was gay. Then it was so effin easy. I realized I was a gay man trapped in a womans body who liked being a woman.

I'd for sure marry a gay man and give him my health benefits and be like deorate the house BEEOTCH gotta go to Houston on business for the week. Have your boyfriends over but none of the whores better get into my Donna Karen eveningwear or there will be hell to pay! AND DON'T STREATCH MY SHOES!!!

specifically, two guys were in the Army, and married two girls who were not. Those in the Army got money for housing, the women they married got free medical care. Worked out well for everyone.

15. I have a friend who had a rich
mama who didn't want to leave her money to her because she wasn't married. She was a lesbian, but had never come out to Mama. So she married a gay florist and they had two children together. (I'n not sure of the mechanics, but I wouldn't eat turkey over there, if you know what I mean.) Over the years they got closer and closer, and while I am sure the marriage was sexless, they were best friends, and both remained celebate. The daddy passed away a year ago from complications of the AIDS he fought for years, and his wife was heartbroken and remains that way. I don't think the children ever knew the the beginning of the union was unusual.

Marriage is a continuum. It's whatever we WANT it to be. You hear that TEXAS?

17. Good idea... next step is for the black people...
... to start taking the bus early in the morning, or late at night, so that the white folk don't feel uncomfortable when they have to ask them to get to the back of the bus.

Sorry, maybe this thread was made in jest, but my oldest is talking about doing something similar to this (marrying one woman of a lesbian couple, and giving them a child), so I'm not in a joking mood. I'd happily give him away (or be supportive in any other fashion) if he found a nice guy to partner with, but this ... ehhh.

Of course, I know I'm a big hypocrite, because I'm normally in favor of non-traditional families. I'm just worried for him. :/

Sorry if I come across all snide and parade-rainy...

34. I get what you mean. It isn't for other people not to feel comfortable
it is for fucking up the system. So if I as a black woman can fuck up the system by taking the bus late @ night and early in the morning I'll do it.

If I can fuck up the system by shortin' whitey an ounce of vodka in a martini I'll do it.

Isn't what the civil rights thing was all about. We forced the issue.

Get a gay man to marry a beautiful lil blonde white woman and say ok marriage between a man and a woman but He has a boyfriend and I have a girlfriend would be so fuckin funny. Blast it all around.

I guess they think if you get married you can't be gay. WTF. I know plenty of gay and lesbians who have been married but in the closet.

I'm talking about being married and be out of the closet.

19. I read a story about a few Gays in India who did that
It was an article about homosexuality in India. It's still a very socially-conservative country although in the cities, the middle-class and upper-class youth has become quite Westernized about sexuality, etc. Premarital sex is common (though hush-hush), for example. Anyway, it mentioned a Gay Indian guy who decided he'd marry a Lesbian he met online because both wanted to please their families but wanted to have gay relationships.

of it as a family. No one is saying you have to be in the closet.

Be out. Hell invite your boyfriend to the ceremony in the justice of the peace office. Kiss him and then hug me when they say kiss the bride. HAve a big ole reception. Invite everyone. Who says it has to be a lie? I odn't think I said that. Who says people can't have different types of families. I think of my friend as my brother. There is no reason why he can't have his boyfriend to come see him in the hospital. I will make sure that happens.

Fuck' the system and then run it down. If gays and lesbians married enmass and fucked the system up it would take all the meaning out of those bullshit anti-gay marriage ban legislation. It would also take the bullshit meaning out of marriage.

35. Family is whatever you make it.
I'm married to a guy (I'm a woman), but my best girlfriend is really close to my family (husband and child) and we've always said "you need a place to live, you can come live with us in a heartbeat" and when we're really old, if my husband dies first, she and I are going to live together, not as lovers, but we do love each other dearly and we don't care what anyone thinks so there. My husband thinks of her as a part of our family. We go on trips together, we cook together, hang out, do everything together.
