RAW STORY

The New York Times will run a short piece about an Italian documentary which documents the use of white phosphorous in Fallujah, RAW STORY has learned.

The paper has interviewed the filmmaker who made the documentary for the Italian state broadcaster, RAI. Photographs obtained by RAI showed dozens of Iraqis whose skin had been allegedly dissolved by the weapon, which is often used as a smokescreen but can also burn inside the lungs -- making it functionally a poisonous gas in enclosed areas. It is also an incendiary weapon.
