“Mr. Secretary, tell them what you know,” Biden said,"
Raw Story Update

Several days prior to his UN presentation, then-Secretary Powell had a private conversation with Sen. Biden, sources familiar with the Secretary's account say.

During this conversation, Biden reiterated much of what he had said during the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s hearing on the evidence as presented by Powell deputy Richard Armitage. According to sources, Biden expressed his concerns to Powell about the reliability of the evidence, and encouraged the Secretary to speak only about intelligence that he was sure of.

“Mr. Secretary, tell them what you know,” Biden said, according to those familiar with the conversation.

“…When we are both out of office for two years, I will tell you what is going on here,” they say Powell replied.

2. That Powell refused to speak out to the citizens BEFORE an election
says it all. That was the last chance this country could have to reverse the evilness of Bush's reign.

Powell and the complicit media who catapulted Bush's propaganda gleefully will rot in their own special hell.

5. I don't know if it was the last chance, but...
.. it was an opportunity wasted.

I know that Powell probably knows every evil thing that this administration has done. What I can't figure out is why he has not come forward. Powell strikes me as the type of guy that would step up. I saw a replay of powell last weekend going over the Iraq intelligence reports. He said then that he was not in agreement, and that Tenet had better be sitting directly behind him when he presented the intelligence. (And he was.)

Considering how evil this administration is, I think that just maybe Powell must remain quite, or he will end up in a pine box.

10. You Don't Really Know Powell...
He's actually a real snake! This isn't the first time he's been involved with unscrupulous goings on!

Sure, he wasn't a "favorite" with this WH, but he DID DO their bidding!!

I don't trust this guy for nothing! He could come to the Aid of His Country, but he's chicken shit!!!

11. Powell's been pulling this coverup act for 4 decades. That's why he was
there. He gets to mewl as if he is innocent but he knows DAMN well what he's doing. EVERY DECADE for the last 4 decades he has played cover up for the biggest liars, murderers and thugs in the universe.

And his innocent and aggrieved act just helps him get away with it with too many people who don't know what a piece of lying shit he is.

He's been the getaway driver for some of their biggest crimes the BFEE has committed against this country and humanity.

7. That's my memory too.
If he did vote for the war, knowing that Powell wasn't happy with the reasoning behind, what does that say about Senator Joe?

NOT presidential material in my opinion and not sure I would want him as a senator either. I want more information from him on what he did with this information. Did JB pressure Powell, share this info with other DEMS, what, what did he do other than sit on it for 3 years.

6. Yep. Wikipedia says he did
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Biden

The Bush administration rejected an effort Biden undertook with Senator Richard Lugar to pass a resolution authorizing military action only after the exhaustion diplomatic efforts. In October 2002, Biden supported the final resolution of support for war in Iraq. He continues to support the war effort and appropriations to pay for it, but has argued repeatedly that more soldiers are needed, that the war should be internationalized, and that the Bush administration should "level with the American people" about the cost and length of the conflict.

Just haven't ever got over that and now this...

Joe, Joe, Joe, what the hell are you thinking and what game are you playing?

How does he benefit to tell this story now?

8. This is the CRAP that makes me CRAZY
Thanks a LOT Colin... I'm sure you'll be happy to SELL us the truth in your book "two years after your crew is out of office".. HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL HAVE DIED IN THE INTERIM?.. iS THAT NO "BIGGIE"..?

These freaks treat this whole thing like a casual game of Risk on a rainy Saturday afternoon at the seaside cabin.

Aren't we all just SICK of having to PAY for the truth, a page or chapter at a time....YEARS after the fact??

I would like to see electrodes and lie detectors attached to the whole administration, and a REAL town hall group invited in to ask the tough questions.. The lapdogs don;t seem to be able to put a 3-piece toddle puzzle together..

:grr:
