Poll question: What Are They Telling W. About Why No One Wants Him Campaigning With Them?
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 11:58 PM by Plaid Adder
We all know W. doesn't like to hear bad news. How are they explaining the fact that Santorum et al. now don't want him around any more? What do they say when they're explaining why these guys are suddenly cancelling their photo-ops?

6. Hey, want a GREAT new job you can do from home?
By next summer, thousands of Republicans running for office will need polite, but pointed letters to send to GWB.

Can you write? Can you creatively compose a letter of 'regret'? Can you say 'Thanks, but no thanks," in a way that won't offend?

To see if you qualify for this fascinating new employment opportunity, please complete the following in twenty-five words or less:

"Dear President Bush,
I am grateful for your offer to come down and campaign for me. However, this is not possible because ..."

Send replies to the GOP ...

NanceGreggs

8. This should have its own thread!
But, here is my effort:

"Dear President Bush,

I am grateful for your offer to come down and campaign for me. However, this is not possible because all of our teleprompters are currently inoperable. Please do not offer to bring your own, as I know you would only send us a $5000 bill for power, transportation, and security costs.

Thank you for the images of you clearing brush at Crawford and speaking manfully about how we do not torture. I am sure they will come in handy...someday.

Sincerely,

Rep. I. M. Dedmeet, R-Apprehensive

C ya,

The Plaid Adder

11. Congratulations, successful Applicant!
Methinks you're going to be very busy next year! If you need an assistant, here is a sample of my efforts in this regard:

"Dear President Bush,

I am grateful for your offer to come down and campaign for me. However, this is not possible because I am afraid that my supporters will be so awed by your presence, I might be totally minimilized as a result.

When I discussed your potential appearance with my campaign staff, they pointed out that millions of your fans, people who would come just on the chance that they might touch the hem of your garments, would be too overwhelming a crowd for our security people to handle.

I understand that a fellow Republican, who is running for office about two thousand miles from here, would greatly appreciate your help. Perhaps you could consider spending your valuable time there."

7. That he's a dipshit who mangles speechs?
That would be too much to ask, wouldn't it?

Your question makes me think it doesn't matter what W. thinks about this. He is bad juju. If the rumors are true, 43 is just a political calculation of Karl Rove et al. anyways, right?
He is a cog, a sop to the bush family.
Onward Christian soldiers.

9. Gee dubby
I know you are too busy as the Knucklehead in Chief especially during war time. The recent terror attacks must have us on guard for any insurgents comin round.
Please protect us dubby and; Shall we pray for you?

12. Dear Mr. President,
Edited on Thu Nov-10-05 04:30 PM by Lisa
Thank you so much for offering to come and campaign for me. However, I must regretfully decline your kind suggestion, since my schedule is totally packed and it just would not be possible to allow you the appropriate amount of time which you so richly deserve. Also I have to wash my hair. And for some reason somebody accidentally took a bulldozer to the only nearby airport runway which is long enough for Air Force One. And then, a landslide closed the only road into town which can accommodate your extensive motorcade. (I know that the landslide might seem a bit peculiar, since we are located on the Great Plains -- but my advisors assure me that such things do happen.)

By the way, for future reference -- you might want to disregard "speaking invitations" sent to you by Ms. Jones, who is running against me in the election, as the Democratic candidate.
