Solving the Iraqi Solution

Being good Americans (not the false "flag-waving patriot" kind), I think we can all agree that George Bush's involvement in the political world has been a disaster. Despite the public giving strong support to the pResident at first, I think the straw that broke the camel's back was the lack of WMD in Iraq. People are angry that American soldiers are needlessly dying and Bush is once again a public "loser".

But the damage has been done. Bush has effectively alienated the US from the world, making us once again the "bad guy".

So, what's the solution? Well, I was reading the latest Ted Rall article, and he proposes something that will only cost the US the pretense of being "right".

"Being American has meant never having to say 'you're sorry,'" Bush should tell the U.N.. "We've long been powerful enough to do as we please. But a great country must learn from its mistakes. And we are brave enough to admit that we made a mistake in Iraq."

Yes, it's an apology, but please make sure you read toward the bottom, you will find the ultimate solution (or at least the one that will make everybody but neo-cons happy):

"Finally, those who wage war before attempting to resolve conflicts through diplomatic means must face personal responsibility for their actions. Therefore, I will immediately turn myself, my vice president, the officials of my cabinet and certain members of Congress over to the international tribunal at The Hague for prosecution for war crimes in connection with our illegal invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. In accordance with this decision, I hereby resign the office of President of the United States, and respectfully await instructions from Secretary Annan as to where to present myself for surrender."
