Bush's speech deliberately uses grammatical 3-card monte to mislead
the listener. Bush said:

"Many of these critics supported my opponent during the last election, who explained his position to support the resolution in the Congress this way: "When I vote to give the president of the United States the authority to use force, if necessary, to disarm Saddam Hussein, it is because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hand is a threat and a grave threat to our security."

That's why more then a hundred Democrats in the House and the Senate, who had access to the same intelligence, voted to support removing Saddam Hussein from power."

The key phrase is "who had access to the same intelligence." They had the same intelligence as who? Bush never says. A careful reading of the text would conclude that the who is Bush's opponent, Kerry.

Bush never says the Dems had the same intelligence he did. But he knows people will hear it that way because others have already used that talking point. This gives Bush cover against any future claim that he deliberately lied to the nation, similarly to how they connected Saddam to 9/11.

A leader? No. A misleader? Indeed he is.

3. Even Tweety pointed out tonight that the intelligence that he was
referring to in that speech today was PROVIDED by the WH to the Senators. They saw the same intelligence that they WANTED them to see, but that doesn't say that they saw ALL the intelligence that was available.

Quite clever way to say something without saying it. Time to add the terms imply and infer back to the everyday language of the people!

The intel that said "NO, IT'S A MISTAKE, GO BACK!!"

Bush wants to make people think that the DEMS had the same intel he had, and they supported him. They had the intel he gave them.

meanwhile, here's what they did when truth threatened the war ...

6. Except for the fact that Kerry never voted for IWR to remove SH
from power.

From his Senate speech: "As bad as he is, Saddam Hussein, the dictator, is not the cause of war."

Kerry needs to call this little Bozo on his revisionistic statements.
