Will the Republicans impeach Bushit or will they go down with him?
I was just thinking about this today. This has become serious business. How far will they let this go before they do turn? I mean at some point if it gets too bad Bushit and his minions will have to leave to save their party? That is a given. Isn't it? And I think we are reaching that point pretty soon too. Maybe they are waiting to see who else Fitzgerald indicts at the end of the month and then move?

2. Both.
They will hand power to so-called Dems and back the efforts to prosecute the evil ones.

The Republican Party will cease to exist.

3. They'll do anything they can...
To bring America down with them. They have no common sense, no plan - the only thing they understand is CYA!

4. Didn't I read yesterday that Lott basically told Cheney he
needs to keep his mouth shut? It looks like they're starting to fracture and Bush seems to be embarking on a "rally the troops" tour

5. they will NEVER impeach him
they might offer him a very nice retirement and he'll resign, if they can work out a very ceremonial and deferential transition to someone reasonable (cheney resigns first, gets replaced by the next president, then shrub resigns). IF they can figure that one out.

but they'd never impeach him, if only because that would mean they'd have to find someone willing to give him a bj....

6. In order to restore the American republic, the tyrant MUST be taken down.
All true Americans understand this.

7. 25% thats the magic number.
If Bush hits 25% approval rating - They will ask him to leave or use McCain or someone popular to ask the House to begin Impeachment proceedings. I don't believe any Repuke in the house has much popularity these days but they will do this to save there own party as a last resort.

(Disclaimer - I really don't know what I talking about but it's nice to have visions of 25% with an impeachment)

8. they will never
impeach bush, that would make them look even worse than they do now (if you can believe that).

the republicans will resort to their usual scare tactics, repeat-filled rhetoric and propaganda etc... to get themselves out of this, but it wil be too late. they have nailed their own coffin.

what is great about this is the timing couldnt be any better. with the vital 2006 elections coming up, there is a GREAT shot at the dems taking the control away from the republicans. as was seen in the 90's and today, i firmly believe that having control under the presidency is sometimes more important than the presidency itself.

im personally doing what i can to get rid of rock santorum in PA. doing some help with Bob Casey Jr's campaign. i want to see the dems cripple the republicans in 2006 which i firmly believe they will.

16. I agree,
but they need a way to save face. What will it be?

Maybe there will be extreme pressure on Bush behind the scenes to come with a reason to bow out. What would it be?

11. He may do it himself
He's got a boob for a press secretary, his Administration is fumbling all over the place and his speeches are becoming more asinine. I'm convinced that any day now he'll give a speech impeaching himself--long before the 2006 elections.

12. It's time for the Democrats in the house and senate
to tell their Republican counterparts, you are either with the American people or you are with Bush, it's your choice.

They need to expose their bills, what they mean, and how they vote on them to the public.

13. Will the Republicans impeach Bush?
Only if he gets caught in some creepy sex scandal. Now that would get their attention! That would be something that those prim little Republican hypocrites could really sink their fangs into.

14. You have to enjoy
sex in order to be caught in a scandal and I'm a firm believer that Bush's daughters were test tube babies.

I can hear Laura at night, "Georgie, wrong hole... AGAIN!"

17. Abandon Bush? It WILL NOT HAPPEN - the repugs are in too
deep

They are beholden to fundies, corporate paymasters

We must defeat them, and expose their cabal and impeach this administration

We have to wait for '06 to get to parts 1 and 3 of above

18. The evidence is huge already.
The budget bill was not even able to be brought to the floor. Despite the fact their swat committee went into backroom closed session like they usually do and brainstormed every way they could think of to sweeten it enough to get the votes. No chance.

Republicans are seeing the evidence they are going to be thrown out on their ass.

I heard on bow tie tonight that as many as 88 house seats are in play. I repeat that, 88 house seats. Do you know how huge that is?

20. How could the Republican Party
possibly survive an impeachment on these horrendous, unthinkable & almost-unbelievable grounds, of their highest members and of all those other Senators, Congresspeople, etc. who so colluded and conspired with, and loyally backed them?

Of course whatever name they give their next party, it still will be the current Republican membership (crap by any other name still smells like crap) -- but I really do not see how it could continue and still be a (pseudo) honorable and prideful organization.

If anyone can conceive of their survival, please tell me why you think it's possible...

What is most hurtful, to me at least, is this was Abe's beloved party.
140 years later and into the 3rd millennium -- who could have imagined?
