Did anyone else think that Bush sounded drunk during his speech?
Or was it just me?
he was sure slurring words and trailing off into nothingness..... BUT then that's pretty typical.

1. If someone were to ask "do you think Bush sounded sober...?"
THAT would be news.

2. No, I'd say he was
uncomfortably sober. Wishing he were not, probably.

Actually, I will admit I thought his delivery was rather good...for him.

But the message was just a tad...WEAK.

Possibly drugged.

7. No, but defensive and out of place? yes! What a crappy Vet day
speech, defending his own failed iraq policy instead of honoring the vets. Some seemed stunned as he spoke, to hear him whinning like that.

8. Impairment
He was trying very hard to sound logical and to make his delivery "right." That's what was so frightening. I think that was the best he could do. I watched him and something about it screamed at me---"extreme effort."

Unfortunately I have some experience with this. When my very intelligent dad got Parkainson's and started getting demented--I could tell when he was making a huge effort to keep his thoughts and speech patterns together. He mounted a supreme effort when I talked on the phone with him.

In a weird kind of way, this reminded me of that. Definitely something off--but this was the first time the supreme effort effect seemed to kick in (at least for me).
