What's the difference between being 'in the know' and 'unable to do jack'?
I hear more and more things happening in this world that are depressing.

But I am unable to do nothing.

Why should I read up on things at all then?

(this can be said of any of us; we can do nothing.)

2. With knowlege comes potential.

Even if an opportunity to act presents itself, that act can not be taken if knowlege is not present.

And even if you have no opportunity, you may pass your knowlege on to someone who does, or will, have such an opportunity to act.

The world can change based on a single deed. And that deed is nearly always rooted in knowlege.

Examples:

Countless people likely noticed penacillin molds. But who was it who noticed their effect on a bacteria culture and had knowlege of what that meant?

Who saw dots of light moving in the sky, and knew what that meant regarding our planet and the Sun?

Who might have bought some of a German youths paintings, had they knowlege of what Hitler would otherwise become?

Thus:

From acorns come oak trees. Knowlege is the seed. You can be fertile ground or desert.

The choice is yours.
