Both are tough talkin' Texans (well, chimpy is a pseudo Texan)but in a game of real hardball politics which one would come out on top?

1. LBJ all the way.
You may not have liked all of LBJ's thoughts, but at least he had some of his own ideas. His power was from within--not from an exterior "brain" appendage.

3. You know LBJ actually won Kansas in 1964
Goldwater got thumped the way Bush should have, but now RW extremism is mainstream. Then in 1968, LBJ did not run for re-election because of the Eugene McCarthy anti-war candidacy. Still his veep won the Dem nomination and almost won the election, so I think LBJ would have won in 1968.
But it would not be LBJ vs. Bush, it would be LBJ vs. the Republican Noise Machine, and Democrats do not now have the same machine 'we' did back in 1964.

4. LBJ knew where so many bodies were buried
that the Bushies would not have crawled out of their hole to try to take him on.

6. W/O fraudulent vote counting and ex-felon lists * * couldn't beat eggs.
Gore beat him in 2000 and by a sizable margin. Kerry beat him by 5M votes if the exit polls are to be believed and I think they are.
