Just some thoughts:
Marc Maron and Randi Rhodes are what keep my dial on Air America. Marc Maron is perfectly described by this: Unlike anyone else on Air America (including Franken), Maron slams the idiocy and evil of the Bush administration AND makes you laugh at the same time (which isn't easy).
Laughter is incredibly important. It's healing, it's strengthening, and we libs do too little of it. We poke too little ridicule at the Bush Administration. We seem to be constipated, suffering victims.
Laughter makes people strong, not to mention that anytime you poke fun at something, you diminish it. We need to do that with the right wingers.
I hope Air America is doing well financially.
I had to add this:
Some people don't like Jerry Springer, but what they don't realize is that it draws in people who regularly listen to his show (ahem!), who probably automatically voted for Bush in the last election, and causes them to listen to truth on Air America. THAT, in itself, is pretty darn amazing. Jerry explains everything in a very simple manner, just as he does with his TV audience.
Some people say they don't like Ed Schultz because he hunts, has a voice like Rush Limbaugh, and expresses himself in a toughish manner. I think Ed brings in Republicans by the score. In fact, when he opens the lines to people, it becomes clear that a lot of the callers are former Republicans. THAT is pretty amazing as well.
Taking the message of truth out there isn't easy. These people do it. So does Marc Maron.
