4. Oh I am sure he does
I am having an argument with a freeper. He claims o'lielly has more viewers than any other journalist IN THE WORLD. I know I read a couple years ago that some lady in China actually has more viewers than any other journalist. But I tried searching and couldn't find anything. Where can I get stats on this? Anyone know?

10. That's the first thing i thought
The most viewed journalist in the world just has to be some Chinese anchorman.

If it is the former, then possibly. If you refer to the latter, no effin way.

He's a talking head with a show... he's hardly a journalist.

19. Links to what? Links to his journalism credentials?
He's a writer, a commentator, a talking head and a public speaker. But not a journalist.

He might have done some journalism, but he's not known for that. Einstein was a violinist, but he wasn't the "most recognized violinists" of his time.

I think your Freeper friend should show some proof that O'Reily is the most watched journalist.

21. He ain't no friend of mine
No way! Just an idiot freeper I argue with on another discussion board. He is a dumbass. He says he agrees with o'lielly because it was stupid of San Francisco to ban recruiting. I nailed him for that because SF did NOT ban recruiting. So he came back with o'lielly is the most watched journalist IN THE WORLD so he can't be all that bad.

He will want links when I say o'lielly does not have more viewers than any other news show in the world.

I was hoping a DUer could point me in the right direction. I looked at wikipedia and searched for Nielsen ratings but I am coming up empty.

24. Get him to prove that I am NOT the most well-known blogger in the world.
You can't disprove a negative. The burden is on him to prove that O'Reily is the most-watched.

Having said that, I think if you could find the numbers of news-viewers in China, that would sink the FOX claim pretty quickly.

By the way, I would stop talking with Freepers. If you want to mimic the experience of talking to a Freeper, dig a hole in your back yard and scream into it.

You are wasting your time.

25. Ah it's so much fun
I win 90% of the debates. They are such easy pickings. And I have recruited one over to our side. He now hates bush and posts the most negative stuff he can find on el presidente (that's his nickname for dubya).

I am going to look for ratings on Chinese news shows. That's probably my best angle.

29. Check this out, brainshrub
Here is what this idiot freeper said in a discussion of evolution:

Funny, isn't it that science is the study of God's laws. God made all the laws of the universe and scientists study the laws and tell us what the laws are. hehehe

How can you not want to slam this idiotic logic against the nearest wall? Target practice - and the pickins are easy :)

28. What about broadcast?
http://www.tv.com/story/story.html&story_id=2223

For October:

Among the broadcast networks' evening newscasts, it was another split decision: NBC Nightly News averaged 9.4 million viewers to ABC's World News Tonight average of 8.6 million viewers and CBS Evening News viewership of 7.3 million. In adults 25-54, ABC and NBC averaged a 2.5 rating and CBS averaged a 1.8 rating.

40. No way, Jose
First, he's not a journalist, he's a hateful loudmouth scumbag with a show on cable TV. The audience for the cable "news" channels is tiny compared to the viewership for broadcast TV news. In fact, if DUers would quit watching him so they could report on how shocked they are by what he says his audience would be almost zero.
