Is the DSM history?
Edited on Sun Nov-13-05 08:32 PM by dennis4868
With all the pre-war investigations being done by the media and talk from Dems on the matter, has anyone heard anyone mention the Downing Street Memo as evidence that the WH put together a bogus report/NIE on Iraq's WMD capability? All I hear is that the WH did not pressure the CIA and the only matter left open for discussion is how the WH used the evidence.

The Downing Street Memo makes it clear that the WH is responsible for the "bad" intelligence and then they went even further and hyped the "bad" intelligence which they are reponsible for. I have not heard one Dem mention the DSM in the last month.

Am I wrong?

1. No, but the media will only let Howard Dean on TV. They hate him
and thats why they will only let him on and no one else. The media hates the Democratic Party.

2. No
The Downing Street Minutes (DSM) are a vital piece of evidence that will be needed when the Dems take control of the House of Representatives in '06 and begin impeachment proceedings against Bush** and Cheney.

If it is so valuable....
why have there been no Dems to even mention the Downing Street Minutes in the past 6 weeks? Dems should be screaming on the top of their lungs that the DSM proves everything!

8. They've Developed Laryngitis
I concur fully. Try to be patient. Of course, in the meantime, nothing prevents you from writing to your Congressman to reiterate the importance of pursuing this, especially if Tony Blair is booted from office by his party.

3. Sometimes you might as well be talking to a wall
There is nothing clearer than the DSM for showing the administration criminally hyped intelligence that lead to the deaths of thousands of people.

How many thousands? Oh, maybe 30 times the toll of 9/11. We've got our own little homebaked Osama right in the White House.

4. The only one who brought it up was Media Matters after the closed session

in the senate. When Roberts said he was going forward with Phase 2, Media Matters picked up on his lie, and found his response letter to Kerry's DSM letter of inquiry (signed by 9 other senators) saying he didn't want to go over that ground. That was last July. Roberts lied BIGTIME.

Funny that no media wants to talk about it. I'm sure Media Matters got it to them.

6. Throw it in the pile of other fizzled Bush scandal stories
When you have a corporate media and a Republican Congress these stories usually don't grow legs, rather, the above mentioned actors find ways to make sure that they fade into the obscurity of the internet.

But things are taking their toll. The little Baby Bush is now at 36% in the polls.

7. 36% with all offices battling for him.
If there is one thing the PTB knows, it's when to cut bait. You may see numbers in the 20's.

Blair faces new inquiry into Iraq war
Impeachment campaigners claim former ministers will join 200 supporters to force Commons probe
By James Cusick, Westminster Editor
MPs organising the campaign to impeach Tony Blair believe they have enough support to force a highly damaging Commons investigation into the Prime Minister’s pre-war conduct.
A renewed attempt to impeach Blair over claims he misled parlia ment in making his case for war against Iraq, will be made in the Commons within the next two weeks.

I'm not a 'parrot' watcher, so i'm not surprised i haven't heard any dems speak of it, and unless they have something new to add wouldn't expect to. That being said this whole pre-war bs has a lot of pot stirrers.
