18. Then FAN THE FLAMES! 1 (800) 839 - 5276 - TOLL FREE to Capitol Hill
It's a switchboard number that will transfer you to anybody's office in the House and/or Senate.

DEMAND A SPECIAL PROSECUTOR!!

It's FREE and it only takes a minute. WE HAVE TO DO THIS. HAMMER AWAY AND EVENTUALLY WE WILL BREAK THROUGH!!!

That's what I heard from a staffer in Jim Jeffords' office a little bit earlier this morning.

1 (800) 839 - 5276.

DO IT!!

17. I keep hearing this asked...
My opinion, humbly, is that it will be front page when there is NEW NEWS.
When Bushco trys to claim executive privilege or national security as reasons to not turn over ALL relevant info to Justice, the headlines will SCREAM for an Independent Prosecutor.
Till then... we wait.

3. Sorry,
but I think the media is going to bury the story. They've already lost interest.

7. They'll cover major developments, you can bet on that
If Joe Wilson sues, and starts deposing White House cabalists, the media is going to be there trying desparately to spin it away from the ratfucker in chief.

8. 80% of the public think it's a serious matter.
And there are many more juicy revelations yet to come.

This is not going away.

12. Watergate took over a year from start to finish
Even though the burglary was in the summer of 1972, the case didn't reach public awareness until after Nixon was reelected. As late as January 1973, when the Watergate burglars were convicted, the administration was still able to stonewall about its own involvement.

Things really broke loose at the end of April 1973, when Haldeman and Ehrlichman resigned and John Dean was fired. The Senate hearings began in May and the existence of the tapes came out in July. Pressure for impeachment began after the Saturday Night Massacre in October 1973, and it was all downhill from then until Nixon resigned in August 1974.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/national/longterm/watergate/chronology.htm

Using that as a template, we could easily be in the equivalent of that final downhill slide long about . . . oh, say, November 2004.

13. Excellent points!
The media can only chew so much substance at a time. They like the sweet stuff, usually. But if the Wilson Affair heats up, they'll be forced to chew on it. It's hard to keep that in mind.

16. Look what he accomplished so far: 1. Got the WH to apologize
for the 16 words (a first since "We are very, very sorry, Mr Chinaman")
2. Put them on the defensive on Traitorgate
3. Getting out the Gardiner papers (50 lies about the war) just as the WH tries to once again sell their war.
This has legs - and of course, just as we pushed forward the soldiers letters, we owe that hero to keep stories up front.

19. 1 (800) 839 - 5276 - TOLL FREE Capitol Hill Switchboard. PUSH IT!
This is how you help nag your congresscritter. As of this writing, 10:17 am, pacific time, I must have called about 30 Senators and Congresspeople. Most of them rethugs. The rethugs, especially, need this shoved in their faces. Quote the polls: I think it's pollingreport.com - another thread here has it. Quote the statistics if you have some.

Or just gently and sweetly do what I did - and I got NO arguments and NO debates and NO challenges and NO belligerence. Tell them...

"can I just add my voice to the millions of Americans who want a Special Prosecutor"?

Or words to that effect.

WE'VE GOT TO DO THIS, FOLKS!! HELP FAN THE FLAMES!!! DON'T LET THIS CAMPFIRE GO COLD!!!
