7. Fox News Watch, FNC - That’s right, I put a show from Fox News on my list. This is apparently the program Roger Ailes created to fulfill some legal requirement that his network actually be at least .0005% “fair and balanced.” A weekly roundtable on media coverage in which the conservatives (Jim Pinkerton and the woefully-hair dyed Cal Thomas) often burst out in liberalism, and the liberals (Neal Gabler and Jane Hall) often finger-wag conservatively. How host Eric Burns can maintain such a program of actual value on a network devoted to reinforcing prejudices and stereotypes, is testament to his integrity as a journalist. Skip the last segment - the viewer e-mails are apparently all from mental patients.

2. I quite agree.
It's the best 'media criticism' show on TV.

Hoodathunk.

3. I usually catch Fox news Watch on weekends and often wondered
how Fox News ended up with a show that does indeed seem balanced in format. I don't insist on programming that shows a left leaning bias, only that both sides have a forum.

My only complaint of the show is that the pundits all seem so stuffy and elite.

More Fox-like is the preceding "Beltway Boys" in which conservitive Mort Kondrake and ultra-conservitive Fred Barnes debate whether GWB is a good president ....or a GREAT president. Good for a curse laden chuckle though.

4. I TiVo this show every week.
Keith is right on the viewer mail point, but that is expected.

The liberal side is well represented, IMO. Gabler and Hall are quite capable in their delivery and ever the conservative side, Pinkerton and Thomas, aren't *that* bad.

I actually pondered how it can be so different from the usual shows on Fox myself, over the weekend.

As much as I despise "debate shows", FNW is quite refreshing because they very rarely talk over each other opting, instead, to give each other time to present their point and move on.

5. We used to watch that show before the election last year and
I agree that it's refreshingly good.

Brilliant Husband was a reporter for many years, and he thought Eric Burns did a damn fine job.

Even though Pinkerton and Thomas are conservative, they don't usually just lie like most of the conservatives on Fox.

They argue their positions, but they generally don't misrepresent people.
