Caskets being recovered in fishing nets
and this will continue for quite some time. Due to katrina and rita, caskets have been unearthed and have floated into the Gulf of Mexico where they are ending up in fishing nets. Mother nature disturbed the living and the dead. The pain continues as the MSM leaves New Orleans.

2. Anyone ever get a good number ...
Of the dead in NOLA? At one point weren't 9000 or so people still listed as "missing?"

Seems like I haven't heard an update, but surely all 9000 weren't hiding out a secure undisclosed shelter somewhere...

4. the count is not final
the last news report i saw said 1,070 dead for new orleans area, so not including those died elsewhere including alabama and mississippi

they are still processing bodies at dmort

they have not been able to turn to the question of missing persons at this time

it is going to be a long, slow process, there will no quick total of the dead

9. Cokie Roberts stated this morning on NPR ;
that there are still 4.000 missing in NO.... of course not all are presumed dead, but still a staggering figure. Also stated that there is no leadership on the Federal level dealing with the aftermath. Never thought I'd see this in the US of A.
