Bush Is GONE For The Rest Of The Year?
From today's MSNBC "First Read:"

President Bush departs for Asia this morning and, except for a quick stop back in Washington early next week, is basically gone through the holiday. Bush leaves the White House at 11:15 AM, stops tonight at Elmensdorf AFB in Alaska to make remarks on the war on terror, and then proceeds to Kyoto, South Korea and Mongolia. After briefly returning to the White House to pardon the Thanksgiving turkey, he's on to Crawford.

Damn. From 11/24 through 1/5 or so? Shrub looks like he's planning a slide into 6 weeks of full mosey.

4. Thatksgiving at the Imperial Pig Farm Upon Crawford !!!
How delightful !

Bush will ensure his All-Time Champion Vacationer Status in the Guiness Book of World Records.

And Cindy Sheenhan will remind him once again that he and his Ugly Oil War are entirely Lacking in Honor.

5. Vacationing like that on our tax dollars.
And right wingers have the big hairy balls to bitch about TEACHERS, who actually work hard and spent most of their vacations working even more???? I think they have their bitching priorities messed up.

Whatever. This guy vacations more than my uncle. Who is, btw, unemployed.

9. Maybe it's because they have to make sure he can dry out again.
Edited on Mon Nov-14-05 03:42 PM by calimary
If indeed these are the worst of times for him in his so-called presidency, and he's suspected of drinking again, and his slurred speech last Monday while stumping for Kilgore is any indication, and the wasted, hung-over look in his recent photos are any further indication, I'd say his handlers are hoping to get him back on the ranch again so he can dry out. Evidently, if this is true, they may feel it's a bigger job this time, and will take longer at this point. Maybe his doctors need time to adjust or change or amp-up his meds? Maybe it'll give Laura time to get away from the schmuck and go have her face tightened a little more? Six weeks is a good recovery time-out, after all. Most of the bruising's all gone by then.

Or, maybe it's that PLUS his handlers realize there's not much he can do in regards to being effective while governing - the House and the Senate aren't paying his dictates (or his dickie-boy) much attention - or much homage, these days. Perhaps they feel it's best just to get him outta Dodge for awhile, and hope things cool down.

And the presstitutes will just brush this aside.

Dan Quayle misspells potato, and the presstitutes go on about it six ways from Sunday Bush spends weeks at his farm (not ranch) in Crawford....and the presstitutes will give him a free pass, AGAIN.

Wonder what the servicemen/women in Iraq think about GWB taking all these vacations when a shooting war is going on?

edited to add clause in 2nd paragraph.

By "they", I mean Cheyney, Rumsfeld and co. After all Bush might just get in the way, since they really run things anyway.

13. Cause he's worked hard, harder than ever before!
Katrina cut his August vacation short.

Since the shortened vacation, he visited the NO area 8 times, then had to visit Texas when Rita hit, then visited FL when Wilma hit, then he hosted the Royals, then had to go to the Summit of the Americas.

ALL THIS WITH HIS SLEEVES ROLLED UP!

Busy, busy, busy!

Don't be silly...we can't be spared the horror of another White House Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony presided over by Spongehead Dumbass and Pickles. :puke:

Of course they'll be back to D.C. after Thanksgiving...so much to do, stockings to hang, indictments to dodge, bills to wrap up. Time enough to get back to Crawford for another binge before New Year's Eve.

24. With Bush gone? -- concentrate on Libby, Delay, Abramoff indictments
Lobbyist Abramoff indicted on fraud charges -- for openers,

In Congress, Texas Rep. Tom DeLay controlled the votes like a modern-day Boss Tweed. He called himself "the hammer." His domain included a vast network of former aides and foot soldiers he installed in key positions at law firms and trade groups, a network that became called the "K Street Project." He gathered tithes in the form of campaign cash, hard and soft, and spread it out amongst the loyal. He legislated for favored donors. He punished those who disobeyed, and bought off those who could be paid.

Libby's obstruction indictment among 4 others is sure to remain on Bush's Merry lil Christmas...

26. Has anyone heard rumors of a shadow government being
formed to take over when Bush has to leave office prematurely? This would be a good time for a coup taking over an empty White House. Or, you could make a movie about it since it's fictional. :-)
