8. Middle Eastern
It's the closest thing I have ever tasted to a Greek gyro from Greece.

I love shwarma. You have to try at it at a good middle eastern place. It's similar to an authentic Greek gyro. :P

11. I miss it everyday
I am from Lebanon and I LOVE schwarma. I like lamb with mint and cucumber sauce. I used to walk home from school past the stands and pay 50 piastres (about 18 cents!) for a sandwich. I am very old!

16. never heard of it. next time i go to a mid-eastern restaurant
i'll try it. what i really miss are the falafal sandwiches that the street vendors in new york sell (if there still there). there was a guy on 47th street with a falafel to die for. after he stuffed the falafel balls into the pita and covered it with tahina sauce, he plopped some babaganough on top. makes my mouth water to think of it.

You have to go to Mamouns. It's the best take out middle eastern place I have ever been.

21. no. i moved to phoenix 16 years ago and i have never ever
been back to new york. that's why i said in my post "if there still there". you know they don't stuff the pita here in phoenix -- they fold it in half and put the stuff in.
