Maher quote, in case you missed it!
I mean, think about it. Other than the war in Iraq, the Katrina disaster, the deficit, the CIA leak, torture, stopping stem cell research, homeland security, global warming and undercutting science, we've yet to really feel the negative effects of the Bush administration.—Bill Maher

  Ya just gotta laugh!

1. He does come out with some good ones...
there was another where he did what we'd lost, where he started with the twin towers and Louisiana, thousands of lives, billions of dollars, millions of jobs, etc. It was very funny, but typing these words has taken the humor out of it for me.

3. I know what you mean. It's funny, but when you really think
about what he said, it's damned sad that all this has happened.

4. What did Maher say after 9/11? That the terrorists weren't cowards?
It takes courage to give your life for a cause--even a despicable, irrational, murderous one.
All Bill did was state an obvious fact...no wonder he had to be punished.

12. That's about what he said on ABC's 'Politically Correct', shortly
after 9/11, and promptly got fired. Humor and truth were in short supply.

15. No, not PROMPTLY--he lasted for awhile, BUT, and a BIG BUT
NO ONE IN DC COULD SEE HIM!!! The friken right wing ABC affiliate BANNED him. They got more letters, phone calls, emails, and STILL THEY DID NOT BACK DOWN.

Of course, most Congresspeople were home in their districts, so they could catch it--but the office workers had to rely on tapes mailed in from friends, and passed from person to person.

16. MADem, stop
yelling at me! :-) I didn't know no one in DC could see him, all I know is he was yanked. So even way back when, there was funny stuff going on with the media and censorship?!

18. Not at you, at all those sonsabitches at Albritton Communications!!!
We were RABID with ANGER!!!!! It was SUCH a PAIN in the ASS to get the programs, it was like trying to score Jim Beam in Jeddah, or porn in Mecca!!! And you had to mark your tape with your name, scratched into the plastic, with a big tag on it that said STOLEN FROM, so that you could get it back to pass on to other friends--we would even meet at someone's house, or drag the VCR into work, to get a gander at it. If you had a copy of the show, you were popular for that brief moment in time!!

At the same time, you were a huge burden on friends who had to tape it for you from Sanityland, mail it in a timely fashion, and so on!

7. Too bad. It was the
best thing I've ever experienced in over 5 decades of watching TV.

Not really. It was pretty good. I'm sure you can find parts or all of the show online somewhere.
