Call your Congressperson and tell him/her-PODCASTS for speeches
I was thinking about how often it occurs here that a congressperson gives a speech or says something and it hasn't been recorded. Yesterday, someone asked repeatedly if anyone had recorded Sen Kerry's speech and no one apparently had, although there was text.

I always believe that IF YOU'RE GONNA WATCH, RECORD IT because you're in the best position to do it and quite a few of you either already can already or with a minimal investment can. Especially anyone that listens online, it's incredibly easy to sound record.

Beyond that, though, I was considering why it is that the Senators and Congresspersons themselves don't record their speeches. Is there a rule about bringing in an additional camera? (For that matter, is there a rule about someone from the public bringing in a camera to record?)It seems to me that, if WE can watch it or listen to it, why can't the congressional or press offices do it? They probably are listening, watching, SOMEBODY is.

So, suggestion for this morning. CALL your Congressperson's office and ask if they can make PODCASTS of the speeches and post them on their sites. Either audio podcasts like MP3s or vidcasts ala Mpegs.
They are in the BEST position to ALWAYS know when someone is going to speak, and have the most vested interest in getting the news out.

2. Obama has a podcast. It's great.
I think everyone in Congress and everyone running for office should podcast.

3. That's a great site
http://obama.senate.gov/podcast/

Good that he also explains all about podcasts and how to do them/use them on the right hand side. Very nice.

4. YOU NUTZ?
a people in office don't want what they say coming back on them

Example: not a direct quote "Bush believes that gas consumption is an U.S. citizens Right" this was said when running for office.

"this office has always believed in conserving our oil and natural resources" with in the last 3 or 4 months.

I am sorry I don't have the direct quotes.

6. Nope. Did you see the RNC made a biased video of what the Dems said?
It's gonna happen anyway.

There should be MORE exposure for Dems than less, even if it means sometimes Dems are caught by what they say. Same for Reps. Then, finally, that Republican Talking Point meme that Dems never speak up can be laid to rest.

8. Yes, curious, though, where can you find it on the main menu
Maybe I'm overlooking it but it's not immediately obvious, without a search, where to find the podcasts.

9. The url I listed is a direct RSS feed
In English that means you should be able to paste it directly into a Podcatcher or RSS reader and it'll automatically subscribe to it.
