Bush "Reclusive", "Feels Betrayed" - only talks to four people
This from the Daily Kos, with reference to a Washington Times article:

"The sources said Mr. Bush maintains daily contact with only four people: first lady Laura Bush, his mother, Barbara Bush, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Undersecretary of State Karen Hughes. The sources also say that Mr. Bush has stopped talking with his father, except on family occasions." (Wash. Times)

"This is a president who even in the best of times is insular, out of touch, and completely unwilling to have alternative points of view brought to him. Now, according to administration sources he's kicked out everyone else in his Oval Treehouse except for his mom, and three people who remind him of his mom? Shudder." (Daily Kos)

5. We'd better hope it's bs, or we are in even bigger trouble
than we imagined (or is that possible)?

6. I thought the same thing
but it certainly fits with his general petulance, drug/alcohol problem and the fact I don't think he enjoys being the Preznit any more - he's not getting the total adulation/respect/lurve that was promised him when he signed up for this gig.

It's hard work being that dumb.

13. I believe it
Remember Bushit talking only to higher father! Libby will sell his soul to not go to jail. I think KKarl Rover would do the same, Iraq is in big Trouble, SS reform was shelved, embarrassed over the RW nixing His 1st nominee and so on. We think he is drinking and is getting more paranoid than Nixon

19. Oh, this must give Libby the willies.
If George feels betrayed by the men in his life, (and what did Jeb do, to be exiled with the rest? Fail to shoo away the hurricanes?) then he's not likely going to be writing pardons. More likely feel they deserve to suffer.

Do we have any history of Bushit 'turning' on a trusted fundie/loyalist?

3. mommy cant help him anymore
and neither can the surrogates. I guess its lonely at the top. I keep wondering " what is he going to do next ? " He does not do shame and humliation very well.
I wonder if he is psychologically stable enough to stay in office.

CAINE MUTNEY, anyone ?

16. I've always had the feeling that has a lot
to do with how he is. Doesn't give me any sympathy toward him cause he's still a turd. But it does make me wonder what went on when the kids were growinig up! She strikes me as the type that beat and humiliated them a lot.

8. what is scarcely is the source
Edited on Tue Nov-15-05 08:24 PM by wakeme2008
The Washington Times

"The Washington Times would generally rather print their papers on the desiccated skins of puppies than say something bad about a Republican, but they'll print a scoop when they see one. In order to print something like this, it would have to come from an administration source "deep enough" for them to trust and run with."

15. Tecumseh's Curse
Take it for what it is worth, but only one President "escaped" it, Reagan, and many argue he really didn't. His mind died instead.

31. Sounds Like That Old SNL Sketch
With Nixon talking to a portrait of Lincoln ("You were lucky--they shot you!"). Maybe we'll get a "Bush--The Final Days" sketch on SNL one day.

23. the thing with his father seems to ring true;
Might explain the Poppy/ Clinton connection, and could explain why moderate Repubs are felling safe enough to turn against him. (Poppy and friends are leading the demise) I think they feel that this is the only way the whole party is going to survive the bungling of the neocon's and the fundies. Also feel that they know that the economy is about to collapse and all will go down if something isn't done. But regardless of reasons, It looks like "W" is going down.

26. I agree about his father.
Bush Sr. far suceeded him in military, school grades, professional career, etc. He wanted badly to prove he could show he is better than his father. He wanted to attack Iraq in part I think to fix the unfinished job of his dad and show dad that he could fix the mess his dad left. I really think there is a lot of that in his actions.

I tried to support him after 9/11, even though I didn't vote for him. When he went to Iraq, I felt betrayed & have been against him ever since. Maybe I should just talk to 4 people.
