1. really!
I particularly enjoyed that part of the Senate hearings this week when they were asked "Would you mind not getting this tax break?" and they had to say "It's OK with us" because the obscene profits were the topic.

2. It's like seeing water flow uphill.
Republicans finding that giving tax breaks too much to an industry that is making world record profits is.....wrong? Excuse me while my head explodes.

10. the oil comps already told Congress they did not need the breaks.

.Executives from five major oil companies, Exxon Mobil, BP Chevron, ConocoPhillips and Shell Oil, told a televised Senate hearing last week that their companies did not need some of the tax breaks Congress provided.

9. Skeptic that I am with the GOP dominance in DC, I will ask what
Edited on Tue Nov-15-05 09:03 PM by Blaze Diem
the Country may have given up for this?

Was this a strategic move to shore up the GOP House & Senate races in 2006?
Pad Bush's freefalling poll numbers?
What's the catch?
A temporary repeal? For how long..a month's worth of oil co.s profit?

I was once a believer..then the neocons and George Bush appeared.

Too many lies, too many dog & pony shows and too much slight of hand.

Do you have a link to details of this vote? Who were the Senators who dared to bravely vote the tax break down?

Hope this is a good sign for our country, but...well you must understand my lack of trust.

Thanks
Blaze
